I loved this shop! I read a review that the proprietor was not friendly...I found the opposite to be true. She was helpful but did not hover. She answered questions and was very pleasant. The prices were relatively high but her displays and selection of Easter candies were amazing. I was able to choose a few pieces from every bin to make a nice assortment. I didn't have to go to a chain store and buy 15 bags of candy to assemble an assortment and most of the items aren't even found at the big box stores mentioned by another reviewer. Thank goodness there are still people willing to create beauty and aesthetically pleasing spaces for shopping. It would be a sad day if our only choices were big box stores. I recommend this store for its beauty and its delicious candies.

The candy was used for decorations. It was dreamy and sweet and wonderful. Like a fantasy that jumped out of a fairy tale book. It was clean and well organized. There were interesting imported candies as well as the over priced confections that you could find at a gas station. Even if you don't like candy, just go in for the experience.

I just came back from picking up a large order of Halloween Petit Fours from Edie Bees and realized, as many times as I have shopped there, I haven't posted a review for this wonderful candy shop. If you are shopping in Lewes you will inevitably be drawn into the amazing window displays at Edie Bees. Depending upon the season, there are gorgeous, sophisticated displays of the sweeties that are sold within this shop. I recall one of their first displays showcasing massive bouquets of rock candy in gorgeous, rainbow colors.
Inside the shop, the walls are lined with large clear glass receptacles housing every sort of hard and jellied candy you can imagine. Today, I noticed one glass jar that had minuscule yellow bananas! I had not noticed them before and have never seen such a confection. That's the way it is at Edie Bees. There are so many different candies that it's hard to take it all in. Today, I headed straight to the back of the shop to pick up a special order of their gorgeous petit fours. They offered both Halloween and Autumn designs. Last year, I ordered the Christmas designs. The petit fours are not only beautifully decorated but they taste better than I could ever describe. They are spectacular! Whenever I have a party, I try to order petit fours or their mini cakes to work with the theme of the party. They are always a big hit.
If you spend any time in the shop you will find all sorts of little niceties that you will not find in any other candy shop. Today I noticed small boxes of licorice from Sweden and caramels wrapped in paper that may have been from France, in four different varieties.
There is also a case to the back of the shop that houses all sorts of handmade chocolates. I bought a dozen truffles shaped like fat little turkeys for Thanksgiving and came close to buying one of their candied orange slices dipped in dark chocolate but resisted the temptation. There are just too many wonderful candies to resist!
If you find yourself on vacation in the Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach area, you should take a short trip to Edie Bees. It is a candy shop unlike anything you have ever seen.

I couldn’t wait to try Edie Bees. I discovered them while reading about a Couples package offered at Dogish Inn. Being a person who is always on the hunt for the best confections, I set my GPS to the address and couldn’t wait to give my credit card a workout. The store was adorable and something you could easily find in NYC or another posh city.
Pros:
The organization of the store is a person with OCD’s dream. Glass apothecary jars line the walls and tower from floor to ceiling arranged by color. Homemade, impeccably decorated chocolates fill the glass case towards the back of the store.
Cons:
Not sure if she was the owner, manager or a salesperson, but the woman behind the counter was not at all personable. Contrary to the genuine greetings we received from numerous properietors on Second Avenue or Lewes local gentry, I felt ignored. As I entered the shop, a small group exited leaving me the only patron inside. I’ve never been to Edie Bees before, so I wasn’t sure how to go about accessing the candy. It wasn’t until I asked, “Excuse me. Stupid question, but do we just help ourselves?” I received a simple “ yes” without so much as a glance up from whatever she was doing at the counter. Scanning the store for some other clues, I noticed a few stations along the walls that contained paper bags, tongs and scoops. Equipping myself with tongs, I helped myself to some jellied fruit slices as this was something I was craving. I selected pear, coconut and pineapple flavors. I also asked for two chocolate peanut butter cups from behind the counter in addition to some marked down honey bee chocolates filled with honey and caramel (they expired the following day) I’m not expecting to have a full blown conversation about my life story, but there was no interaction between buyer and seller. She was just a bit on the cool side for me.
When I arrived home, I sampled the fruit slices and the pear was very wet and slimy. Add that to the fact they were all cut at various degrees of thickness, it made for quite an unpleasant texture. The pear and pineapple slices had this problem; not the coconut.
The peanut butter cups were eaten by my husband who stated they were “good” when asked. He is a loyal fan of peanut butter cups sold by a chocolatier in Doylestown, PA. This is not a fault of Edie Bees, just his personal preference.
I will definitely visit the store again to give it another chance because I really wanted to love it. I will be back in November and hopefully will receive friendlier customer service this time around or I might just walk out and choose to give me business elsewhere.

The decor is colorful and delicious! Candy is displayed in glass jars on wall shelves and tables in this lovely shop. Arranged by color and changing seasonally it is a treat for the eyes and taste buds! A delicious assortment of chocolate truffles in the case will tempt you. There is also vegan friendly chocolate available, my daughter is very happy about this.

This store is a step back in time! Walls lined almost floor to ceiling with jar after jar of candy arranged by color. Just gorgeous! Of course, that type of ambiance also commands a premium price, so choose your pieces carefully if you are on a budget.

Wonderful vintage looking candy shop. All the candy is in glass containers. Great place to take your kids, but keep an eye on them- Lots of stuff with in reach of little hands. Also great place to get fancy candy for a date.

This shop was very quaint ! You never really understand how fresh candy should be until you visit this store! Everything clean and sanitary ! I had all sorts licorice which I love but it's always stale so I was hesitant to get a lot , I wish I would have because it was absolutely yummy! My boyfriend got the turtles and they were so good ! The lady behind the Counter was very sweet and helpful!

The store is organized by color! So cute. The candies are fun! Today we had to go back and get the tongue changing gummies. We noticed them on our way out yesterday and had to go back. :) There is a lot of candy to choose from and it is tough to make a decision! Tasty and pretty shop! A must when visiting downtown Lewes!
