We were very excited about renting kayaks! We received an email about where to go in terms of them being near the hotel, but did not read it as well as we should have. Our fault.. But you park right next to their stand, so I really don't see why you should have to pay extra money to park in a spot that really should be included in the rent of the boards. So my sister and I showed up (we're in our 30s) with our two small/medium dogs. The woman behind the counter was so rude. She honestly ruined the entire experience for us. We were a little late due to the parking situation, but we did call to let them know. She was rude about that, rude about the life vests too. My sister is tiny and she asked for a kids life vest and she was told there would be an extra charge for that. ?!?! Then, I asked for an extra life vest for my small dog to sit on so she didn't get wet and I was RUDELY (again) informed that I would need to pay $5 extra because there were a lot of people scheduled and they would need the vests. Well I did not pay the extra... I felt bad for the team working with her. They were all so kind and you could tell she must be very hard to work with. The younger guy took my sister and I out to the kayaks and was very kind and even helped push us on out with our pups. We felt nervous the entire time about being charged extra for things, so we ended up only staying out until our original time which was about 40 minutes later. She really unhinged us and ruined our paddling.... so we came back and low and behold, there were just as many life vests there as when we left. Not sure why she would have needed to charge us extra for the oh so many people that were coming, when they were all still there.. but whatever. If it weren't for the kind kids that worked there, I would say avoid at all cost, but because of them, this has two stars instead of 0 which is what I would have given that rude woman. Seriously.. customer service people.. we weren't asking for much.
