Birthday Meal
Feb 2017 • Family
We went here as a birthday meal the day after Valentine's Day. There were 6 of us in total. The menu has a lot on it to choose from and there is a Carvery. The food was very good and plentiful. However it was very slow and although there was at least 3 in the Kitchen the young lady serving was rushed off her feet as h=she was also looking after the Bar. We went, we tried but don’t think we will be back.

I decided to try a different pub for lunch for three of us. Food was good and plentiful, service was good but not that busy. Enjoyed our visit will go back to have a Carvery. Prices were reasonable. Overall would certainly visit again.

Fun and friendly pub for evening drinks
Jul 2016 • Friends
Visited with a friend as they had a band we liked playing. The staff were super welcoming and there is a decent sized bar serving Hendricks Gin -yay.
Enjoyed our night and will go back.

Good value pub food

Have eaten from the main menu & the food has been good, plentiful & hot. Also had the Sunday carvery & that was very good. I'll be taking my parents soon.

The ice cream sunday lacked ice cream! & had too much chocolate cake .... strange comment I know, but it's true!!

Overall - good value pub food.

We walked here from the Marriott, just a few minutes down the road. We should have listened to a recommendation for another place from our concierge, but the Lion looked inviting. We were served a meat pie, the crust of which was too hard to cut--must have been sitting for hours. We should have sent it back but are dumb tourists, who for the moment, thought perhaps that's how pie is cooked around here. We found out from many subsequent pub stops in London that we were just served bad food that night. Atmosphere was nice, service was just OK.

have been a couple of times and its quite hit and miss. Had an awful meal with really bad service, we waited over an hour for our food. Then had a couple of Sunday caverys which have been ok. pint of lemonade and blackcurrant over £3 !!!!!. One thing I would say is that they need to sort the roast potatoes out, you get more skin that actual potatoe they are flat and black, quite tasty but looked burnt

Delicious roast dinner. Very generous servings. Meat was juicy and tender. Lots of choice of vegetables. Service was friendly and efficient.

We went to the Lion of Kent today for a sandwich and light refreshment. We WONT be going again until they advertise they have got rid of the chef!!!!! The Pub is very clean and the barman was very good. We asked about a sandwich and he went to find out what was availabe. When he come back he was telling us when the chef came out to get something from a cupboard. He started by saying there was cheese ham pork or tuna then said no, we only have cheese or pork. I asked about prawns and he said no. He was about to leave when he said we could have sausage or bacon, no thank you.We decided to order burgers. Big mistake! The barman asked how we would like them cooked, I dont know why because they both came out, after a massively long time, Absolutely cremated. I had asked the barman if he had gone to kill the cow! I now know he was cremating our food. The chips were over cooked and the salad was sparse and warm and wilted. I would not have paid but the service was the best so i felt i should. We wont be back! What a shame!!!!!!
