It's a nice place to go for a run or to walk your dog. Easy to park, never too crowded and the views are exceptional.

Lots of paths for walking, biking, roller blading, flying a kite. Great space in the spring before it gets too busy!

Sherwood is one of my favorite parks. We love coming all seasons and jog, take long walks, and bring our dogs when off-season. The park rangers are always nice and even give me friendly reminders when the park us closing.

I love walking along the Long Island Sound. The parking is free Oct 1st thru April or May. There are plenty of tables for a picnic outside and inside the pavilion. The 911 tribute is very touching.

I really enjoy walking my dog during the off season. NOT happy with people that don’t follow the leash law rules.

Beautiful sand beach, but be careful if you want to swim, the ground is full of shells, you should keep shoes. The place is nice to hike, too.

For CT residents as long as your car is registered in the state, admission is free. Beach has several different areas for laying out, and grilling. Weekends can get busy, during the week is different. Great beach to take a walk on as well as...More

You do need a permit. The park office number is 203-226-6983. They can tell you if a permit has been issued.
