Fantastic and small museum, but the staff is working on getting it larger everyday. A must-see for any Civil War buff. Won’t take you 5 hours to go through - which is a relief if you just want to take a nice and educational day trip and get some lunch in the surrounding area.

Very Nice small museum. 2nd floor of Memorial building. It has been there since the building was built in 1890. It was a GAR Hall where the Civil War veterans met. Great preservation of history

When you head up the stairs in the memorial building, it’s fairly easy to find this small, but growing museum. I was excited to hear that they were both expanding their exhibit space, but also their hours; they said they want to eventually be open Saturdays as well. It had a very “historical society” feel to it, especially its location - but don’t let that deter you, because it is fascinating, and the workers are so nice. It had a lot of great artifacts and had a lot of people go in and out in the hour or so that we were there. I was also very excited to hear that they are cataloging and digitizing a lot of their materials and have a lot more that they are ready to display! Overall a great experience! …
