An amazing sight. It is all the more special for being totally unexpected. Beautiful location up a rough country road. I nearly walked past without noticing.

We happened to choose Samonas for one of our hill walks and we stumbled across this little gem. It's quite old according to the information board beside the tree, but it was still going strong with branches full of olives when we visited.
The tree is located off one of the main roads and is signposted. Ample parking nearby and there is also a little hut just opposite the tree, ideal for lunch. The drive up to Samonas is fab as well - lots of twists & turns and plenty of stopping points to admire the scenic views.
