Very interesting view of old family home and history of this manufacturing town. The examples of old factory machines and replica of an early local farm shows what the working class who developed the town did.

Step back in local history in this old well preserved house with incredible wood workmanship inside and out. You're guide will provide great insight into the prominent family that lived in this house as well as the town of Torrington, CT itself

This beautiful Victorian house is home to the Torrington Historical Society. Unfortunately, it is only open on a limited basis. So check for for hours before you go.

I wouldn't have found this attraction except for TA. The number of reviews was small, but they were very positive so I decided to stop when we were passing through. I'm so glad we visited. It was a great experience. It is a beautiful home and remarkably well preserved. It was gifted from its last owner (who cared for it... More

Tour a beautiful, lovingly restored fine old home with exquisite use of wood and plaster molding handwork throughout. The detailed workmanship is gorgeous. It was built in 1900 for one of Torrington's leading families, and is furnished with a combination of lovely family furniture that spans the last century and before, family portraits and artwork, and glass collections, as they... First time visitor of this museum although I've traveled by many times. The interior woodwork is jaw dropping and beautiful and the different kinds of wood used interesting. The owner was involved in the lumber business as well as politics so it's not that surprising it such a beautiful home. My only disappointment was not being able to visit the... More

If your near Torrington make sure to stop in and get a tour. I found the staff to be very helpful and ready to answer questions. Also, look for Eddie the lap cat. Real friendly and loves attention.
