About
Southbury Dog Park is a beautiful 14-acre off-leash park with open fields, hiking trails, a crystalline river, plenty of poopy-bags, and a fenced-in area for small dogs. We are a friendly place open to all. Located on property owned by O&G Industries, look for the entrance to O&G at 236 Roxbury Road, Southbury. The dog park is about 200 yards down the road to O&G.

Great place, open to all, a large open field, access to the Pomperaug River, two small walking trails, benches and tables, and lots of nice folks.

Great dog park!

Large, well maintained, always busy and nice social aspect, everyone says hi and follows the rules so dogs and people are safe. Parking area is a bit small for weekend use and could use some pot holes filled in( interesting since its owned by a quarry!)

Very large dog park

Bigger than most dog parks in the area. Nice location near the river where some dogs go in on hot days. The river changed course after a storm and washed right up against the stairs so be careful. I have seen small dogs get caught up in the current on high flow days. There is a separate enclosed area for small dogs. The park itself has a fence in the front but is NOT totally enclosed and dogs can get out if you do not watch them. The back handicapped (drive past the park and go right) entrance has no fence.

Spacious, friendly and clean

Nice space for socializing your dog. Plus there's off shoot trails to get away from the crowd if it's too rambunctious. Double gated for safety and they do a great job of keeping it clean.

We do not have a dog but we enjoy going to the Dog Park to enjoy the grounds and watch all the dogs frolic. The river is a great part of the park.

Dogs are left to be off lease and unwatched.

We had come back to Southbury and we had taken our lab to the part for the first time.
We walked in and within one minute my dog was surrounded by about 20 animals. Well all heck broke loose, dogs fighting and attacking my dog.
We had gone one more time and the same thing happened

Huge park, with fields, woods, trails, a fenced-in area for small dogs, and a river!

A friendly, off-leash park open to all (not just residents of Southbury). Abundant supplies of poopy bags! The park is actually on land owned by O&G Industries...and the entrance to the park is just inside the O&G entrance. There is no sign indicating a dog park: just look for the O&G sign and turn in there. You'll see the park about 100 yards on your right, after you turn in. Plenty of parking; double-gated entryway; two short but nice hiking trails; and access to the Pomperaug River! A great, well-mainained park.

Thank goodness for a dog park!

Took my 2 granddogs here several x’s . Before we even turn in , they are barking with excitement. The 2 gate system is great to unleash the dogs safely before you open the inner gate to enter. Plenty of space for dogs to run and a beautiful stream that they love to jump into and splash. I like that there are picnic tables and some shade trees. And a great idea that an area is cordoned off, right by the entrance for small dogs to run and play away from the bigger dogs. I saw groups of people walking together with their dogs running playing and it’s even a social event for humans! Bags and trash bins are supplied for cleanup. What a great place !
