The Playhouse is an excellent venue for comedians, magicians and musicians alike. Great views from everywhere that I have sat.

Customer service very poor. Not given an opportunity to upgrade tickets as we were told we had the wrong tickets for meet and greet.

For a small sized entertainment venue I was impressed with the seating view and sound system. Had a great time taking in Boz Scaggs and his band. My only criticism was that the seats were narrow and leg room tight. I was really into the show so it was no big deal. Definitely would not keep me from returning.

Another fine night of music at RP. Preservation Hall was magnificent as always. And the Playhouse is just the best way to see a show. Small, intimate, great sound and views. Somehow the performers work as hard as if they were at MSG. Cant wait to go again.

IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH THE TRIP

My husband and I went to Ridgefield Playhouse last night to see the . Renaissance concert, which was absolutely amazing. It was the 50th anniversary tour and we were lucky enough to be in the second row. Everyone was on their feet cheering this incredible band who has toured for years. What a marvelous show!
Unfortunately, there was a downside! Getting to the theater is very challenging. We got off the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut and followed winding roads. It was extremely difficult to find the theater even though we had GPS. Once we arrived, we found there were only two handicapped parking spots, not enough for the 500 person capacity. That needs to be corrected!
We look forward to going back now that we know where it is. We'll have to get there an hour and a half early just to get handicapped parking, which is difficult since we live an hour and a half away!

A local gem

We are very blessed to have such a great venue run by Allison Stockel for many years, its almost taken for granted that she will book excellent and varied talent.

Went there to see Snowkpus Pockus and it was a good show. The venue is organized, well managed, seats comfortable, sound good, and can see well from all seats. Very good place to see a show

The good and the bad
Apr 2019 • Family
I have been to so many great concerts here. It is truly a wonderful venue. It is a small, intimate theater. Every seat is a good one. The only drawback to seeing a concert here is the audience. They are completely unreactive. They are like robots who can't feel the music. You can see the bands painfully trying to get them to clap along...get excited, give some energy back. But they barely even tap a finger. I had the privilege of speaking with the manager of one of the acts. When I asked him if it bothered the band that the audience was so apathetic, he threw his arms around me and hugged me in agreement. I am surprised any band ever returns there. If you want to clap, sing along or dance...get a seat in the back row. Anything closer will have robots yelling at you to shut up or sit down. If only they knew what they were missing.

Comedy show, concert, movie

small, quaint venue for concerts, movies, plays, shows of all kinds. Because of the intimate size every seat has a good view. Pleasant staff, concessions including adult drinks during some events a bonus. Bathroom is small and parking can be tight so plan ahead. Also lots of restaurant options nearby.
