No visit to Ithaca should go without renting a boat for at least one day...we did three. Being able to visit great little towns like Frikes and Kioni is wonderful but nothing beats finding your own little bit of paradise at the many beaches accessible only by water all around the island.
And if you're going to rent a boat you should absolutely do it from Chris at Rent a Boat Ithaca. Not only did Chris give great instructions on how to use the boat, he was also very flexible with us picking up or dropping the boat off a little early or late. The poor guy was even nice enough to listen to me ramble on and on about what we did and where we went that day.
Thanks again Chris, we hope to visit Ithaca again soon and when we do we will be picking up right where we left off on our boat.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Stavros the owner was incredible friendly and professional. We had never Skippered a boat before and he took the time to come out with us and give us some coaching. He made us aware of all the safety features on the boat which is so very important.
The boat was modern, efficient and for beginners like us felt very powerful. The ability to explore this amazing island was sublimely amazing. Thank You Stavros for doing things so well and making possible our amazing day. Andrew

This is the best (and easiest) way to see the island.
Boats are simple to use and of high quality (1/2 year Mercury 4 stroke engines)
We had a great day zig-zagging up the island, with the water so clear you dont have to snorkel to see the fish clearly!
Fuel is an extra £25 ish, but that is the whole tank and 6 hours of use including stops/lunch.
Highly recommend!

We booked a group tour of the most beautiful beaches of itaka, so the day we arrived to the meeting point and they told us that they don’t have any booking for us, but they can accompany us with a private boat, that is the triple of the price of the group tour. We had the impression that it was a strategy to make us pay more. Please be careful, they don’t speak a good English so be sure that they don’t make to you the same joke that they made for us

We hired a 7 metre RIB for 5 days. We went to Fiskardo on Kefalonia, Frikes every day for lunch, visited Kioni and found lovely deserted beaches to anchor off and go swimming. Made our stay very enjoyable. Would have been rather bored in Vathy without the boat.

We’ve been to Ithaki too many times, but last summer was our first chance to visit some of the island fantastic peaceful beaches. Thanks to Rent a Boat in Ithaca, we had the opportunity to know all about Ithaki’s secrets – after the manager explained us very analytically where to go and what was the best time of the day to do it, we got our boat and started the tour! A really not expensive way to get to know the place – don’t miss it for any reason!

We were staying on Kefalonia & Ithaca and this turned out to be the best activity we did. Staying in Vathy, Ithaca we managed to get a slightly cheaper deal to take one of the lower power boats out ourselves for the day. Instruction was given on operating the boat and then we were off. We headed for sea but being typical landlubbers found the larger waves not to our liking! However, there is a large bay close to Vathy with smaller bays and some beaches where we chilled out, went swimming and enjoyed the beautiful views. Great fun!

We rented two small boats for a group of 17 people for the whole day. Mike and George were super nice and knowledgeable about the island. They took us to beautiful beaches that we couldn’t have seen by car. Great day and well worth the price.

Thanks to Mike for his service. Our family had a great experience using the Odyssey Boat Hire. Mike gave a great instruction in the harbour first. We then explored the many beaches and little coves. We stopped at Kioni and moored for lunch. The canopy helped for shade. Well worth the money. Perfect day out.
