My Pedego Element is fantastic fun. The bike is well constructed and just an absolute joy to ride.

Talking of absolute joy, please go see Mike and Jen at Pedego 203. They are themselves fun and good people. Having seen Mike deal with a shop full of people, he gives everybody the courtesy, respect and attention they deserve. It is great to see a local vendor be this caring and diligent.

Five stars. But they deserve more.

I went in with a small electric bike that was given to me as a gift, and I had absolutely no knowledge about it. I knew it worked as the headlight turned on, but didn't know if it could run because I didn't have the battery. Mike, the owner of the store and who was helping me out, was one of the kindest people I've ever met. He told me as much as he could about the bike, spent 30 minutes of his time helping me, and even hooked up one of his own batteries to show me that the bike could, in fact, run. Mike, being a guy who shows genuine interest in the world of electric bikes, was very helpful and very welcoming. I plan on buying a Pedego electric bike for myself, and with Mike being the owner, I advise everyone to get into his store and have a look for themselves.

Hello Fun!!

After weeks of exhausting research regarding electric bikes, we decided on the sure thing: PEDEGO! We purchased our PEDEGO Inteceptor bikes a few weeks ago and absolutely LOVE them! The experience of riding a Pedego far surpasses a regular bike and the mopeds we owned years ago! PEDEGO has seamlessly blended the very best of bike riding with the pedi-assist and/or throttle use to help you with any formerly daunting uphill climbs! We are using our PEDEGO bikes EVERY CHANCE WE GET! Sure beats sitting around and reading AARP literature 😃. Mike, the owner of PEDEGO SONO in Norwalk has been extremely helpful and a pleasure to deal with! He has a wealth of bicycle knowlege and runs a great, no sales pressure shop in SONO. Definitely worth a trip from anywhere to rent or purchase. HELLO FUN!

You have to do this!!! I road an electric bike in Prague a couple years ago and was siked when I found this shop in South Norwalk, CT. These bikes are the best of the best. They have a throttle just like a motorbike as well as the peddle assist. Please take the time to call the shop and chat with Mike the owner. He was EXTREMELY kind, fun and helpful. Gave me a great route towards the beach, nice neighborhoods and views of long island. We were riding these things full speed at 20 MPH with NO peddling! This is an absolute must whether you are a local, from out of town or coutry. Mike is very accommodating and just wants you to really enjoy his product. Has a real passion for these bikes and fixes all kinds of bikes in his new store front shop with his two dogs behind the counter, a seating area with coffee. Such a very neighborly feel.

First time on an electric bike and now I'm worried I'll never want to go back to peddling on my own ever again!

Seriously though, these bikes were lots of fun. The service in-store was incredibly helpful with very kind suggestions about where to go - all of which worked out great (Calf Pasture Beach & Compo Beach).

They were also very helpful in making some last minute adjustments to my booking due to some other plans falling through right before we were due to arrive.

If you're in South Norwalk, don't miss Pedego. Thanks for making it a great experience!

If you're looking for a quick rating, I give Pedego SoNo five stars. (I'd give them a sixth star if I could.) To fully appreciate why I love this store, you're going to have to read this entire review.

I make no apologies for the length of my story. Mike at Pedego SoNo gave generously of his time to talk bikes with me; he deserves the time it took to write this review and the time it will take you to read it.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are of my neighborhood bike store. It was an official Schwinn dealer. (Did anyone else manufacture bikes in the 1960s?) I loved the "chopper" style stingrays, the mirror-finish chrome, the colors of all the paints, the three-foot cissy bars and the tassels that blew in the wind. Back then, "pimping your ride" was done with a clothespin and a playing card.

There was only one bike for me -- the Schwinn Orange Krate with a silver sparkle banana seat. But at $89.95, it was an INSANE amount of money. I didn't even ask my parents because I knew what they would say. But oh, how I wanted that bike!

I revealed my fantasy to my father's very colorful childhood friend, Solly, who dropped in (mostly unannounced) from time to time. Solly said that I needed to learn the value of hard work so if I cleaned all the toilets in my house for a month, HE would buy me that bike. My father learned of the challenge and was afraid that I would be disappointed if Solly didn't deliver. Solly was offended. "Welch on a bet...? Not gonna happen."

And so I set out to clean toilets for a month and one month later, Solly bought me that Orange Krate. It was like owning magic and beauty at the same time. I was the envy of every neighborhood kid. So much so that the bullies among them often tried to steal my bike (which, itself, was absurd because I had the ONLY Orange Krate in town). My older brother, with whom I visited Pedego SoNo yesterday, routinely protected me from them and, occasionally, recovered the bike when it disappeared. (After threatening enough of them, word got around that anyone who stole the Orange Krate was in for a severe beating.)

My brother, now in his 60s, became a competitive amateur bicyclist (and even met his wife a zillion years ago at their local bike club). I, now in my late 50s, became a lawyer and, although the mystique of the Orange Krate lived on for both of us, I've never been able to recapture the magic of that bike. Until Pedego.

I bought a Pedego about 10 years ago from the manufacturer in California. (I don't think that dealers existed back then.) I believe that it was a first generation. I actually rode it only a few times in Manhattan before I moved it to a different apartment a couple of years later and sent it to the building’s bike room for the next seven years, never again to see the light of day.

A few weeks ago, my girlfriend, my brother and I were walking around Norwalk and came upon Pedego SoNo. The colors and the lines of these bicycles stirred some of my old Orange Krate memories. “I have one of those,” I said to my brother, pointing to a Pedego. “No… one of THOSE?!” He said that he didn’t remember, and we went in.

Wow, the Pedego has changed in nine years! The owner, Mike, gave us a magnificent tour of the current Pedego offerings and encouraged us to take a test ride. We were all a little skittish so we just talked bikes for a good hour. Mike was knowledgeable, sociable and downright friendly, never once suggesting that we buy anything.

I finally told Mike that I have a Pedego, thinking that my admission might abruptly end the conversation. But the opposite happened – Mike was genuinely interested, particularly when I told him that I bought it nine years ago and hadn’t ridden it in almost as long. “It needs some work; maybe not a lot. Just a tune-up, air in the tires, etc.”

Mike was eager to help me back on the road. He encouraged me to bring my Pedego into his shop and let him tune it up. “But you MUST have the right lock for this,” he cautioned. “Otherwise, it WILL get stolen.” Uh-oh, I thought, here comes the big sell. He’s going to shame me into a $6,000 lock for my Pedego. Otherwise, how could he stay in business?

I told Mike that I have an Abus lock and, although it was a good nine years old, it was pretty heavy duty. “If you already have an Abus, then you don’t need a new lock,” he said without a hint of disappointment. “We just need to tune you up, fix anything that might be broken and get you back on the road.” He added, “An original Pedego… I’m gonna love working on this!” His genuine enthusiasm brought back memories of my Orange Krate.

The only potentially expensive problem would be if the battery was dead beyond recovery. A dead battery was a distinct possibility after seven+ years of non-use. That would be a $600-800 ticket. Mike said that he would have to see if it could be charged, and would hold a charge. He said that a dead battery was an all-or-nothing proposition. So I brought in my bike, told him to do everything that was necessary to put it back on the road and prayed.

Yesterday, I returned to Pedego SoNo for Dr. Mike’s diagnosis. “I’ve got good news and bad news,” he said. “The good news is that the battery is fine. I charged it, it held the charge and there’s nothing you need to do. The bad news is that you needed a new front brake caliper.” Uh-oh, I thought. “How much will that cost me,” I asked. “Around $50,” he said. Ok, I thought. Even the bike guy is allowed to torture his customers from time to time.

What’s great about Pedego SoNo? It’s Mike, his enthusiasm and his passion for his products. He’s knowledgeable and, unlike the Schwinn dealers of my youth, he sells AND repairs the bikes, so he speaks with authority on the entire ownership experience. I love my Pedego but what renewed my commitment to bicycling was Mike. He’s a purist and won’t take advantage of your enthusiasm to sell you what you don’t need.

If you’re in Norwalk, I would say that Pedego SoNo is a required stop. And here’s yet another selling point – Mike rents Pedegos, too. So take one for an afternoon test drive and I promise that you’ll experience the magic of that old neighborhood bike store.

Mike is very knowledgeable about the Pedego brand and electric bikes in general. The shop is located on a bike lane and is a great spring point to many destinations. Hello Fun indeed, get off your but and Pedego somewhere!

Of course these are a blast for younger generations, but who knew grandma & grandpa would absolutely love renting electric bikes as well? After Mike's (owner) simple instruction made us all feel competent, we were off for a two hour ride along the coast and surrounding neighborhoods. SO glad Pedego Electric Bikes opened in Norwalk - we'll be doing this again!

The Pedego bikes are amazing. Love the colors and styles. Easy and fun ride.
Mike and Jen the owners are very friendly and knowledgeable and made sure I was comfortable on the bike before taking one out for a ride. My son and I had a great time riding around town and the beach. I love that you can rent prior to purchasing a bike.

We purchased our Pedego in Naples Florida and had some minor issues. Mike was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and helpful. Wish we had purchased our bike from him!
