When I first walked int the Norfolk Historical Museum I was shocked. It's an amazing museum. It looks like a first-class, professionally curated museum. I have to admit I was expecting a rinky-dink, small town museum. But I quickly realized this was not the case. Not only do they have stellar exhibitions that change periodically, they have also published a number of books that deal with Norfolk's history. Hats off to them. A must-see when you're in Norfolk.

The Norfolk Historical Society is a tremendous resource and a asset to the town of Norfolk, showing off the diverse and fascinating history of the town, once a thriving industrial center and now a destination for artists, musicians, writers, sculptors, photographers, and a group of townspeople who support the arts and new business ventures in the Litchfield Hills of Connecticut. Executive Director Barry Webber is a warm and knowledgeable host who makes you feel welcome as he explains how Norfolk has grown and changed. Worth seeking out-- their hours are limited, and Fridays are the best day to check out their exhibits. Highly recommended.

Friendly greeter. Great War theme. The storyboards are interesting and the posters are neat. A visit to Norfolk is a must-do and on the weekends this is a must-see. There is jail in the basement. Hopefully they open it one day. No fee required but donations are welcome. There is no parking adjacent to the property. But there is free parking downtown and all of a 5 minute walk. The Green in front is very nice too.

Every year this Museum changes its exhibits and does a wonderful job in bringing the past alive. A group of caring people have made sure this Museum is relevant and an important part of the town.

The Norfolk Historical Museum is a gem. The exhibit each year is beautifully and professionally presented. One can learn the relationship of the town citizens to history in town and around the world. Not to be missed.
