About
All three Book Barn stores are open from 11AM to 6PM every day of the week. If you're looking to sell us books we buy everyday between the hours of 11am and 6pm. If it's raining, snowing, or in fact, precipitating oddly in any way that may affect the books, give us a call- we may still be buying in small quantities. We buy used books for STORE CREDIT every day, and most days we'll be buying for CHECK, although during the winter we cut back. From November 1st through March 31st checks are only available from Saturday to Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays are for store credit only. So GIVE US A CALL to make sure.

A great little, (well, big, actually) used book store. Most of it is outdoors with oaths to sheds that have the books. There are goats too, and you can feed them a carrot for 25 cents. They have all kinds of genres of books and the prices are really cheap. Staff are very friendly as well. The book barn also has little cars little kids can drive around, as well as a mini playground with swings and a climbing structure. A few cats too! Great place, great prices. Come with the entire family ( or not🤷). Worth a visit if you’re anywhere near.

I really wanted to love this place, and I did like it. It is the way you would picture an ideal used bookstore with its quirky with cats and couches and nooks and crannies. It's very sprawling (including outside, not so fun in the winter) and in some ways that is cool but if I ever actually wanted to find something I think it would be difficult. It was not a place to take my kids where I was continually distracted. I'd say go here alone on a rainy day and spend hours browsing. It's important to note that they have two other locations and most of the children's books are not at the barn building but down the road on Main Street. The actual barn building is very heavy on certain topics (history, anyone??!) but lite on others. An interesting adventure, for sure...

Anyone who loves books as much as I do will thoroughly enjoy a visit to the Book Barn. During a recent road trip, my husband and I visited the main location (there are other locations nearby too) and loaded up on plenty of good reading. Books are arranged by category in different locations across the campus, so it’s easy for everyone to find something of interest. Friendly and helpful staff, along with the great selection of books, makes the Book Barn a great place to visit.

Been coming for years and chose a quiet weekday in January for another visit. I love just wandering around and browsing all the sections. So many fantastic books and even though this was the first visit when I actually didn’t buy anything I still had a great time wandering through each location and discovering. Of course I will be back, again and again!

Allow time to browse, browse and browse some more. All kinds of books in sheds, outbuildings, on picnic tables, and the main store. Taking time to enjoy sampling is encouraged, take lots of it.

What a fabulous place! I love a good treasure hunt and now I’ve found a place to do it for books. Their inventory is huge. I had a great time searching for books for me and my grandson. It’s set in and outdoors. I can’t wait to go back. Next time I’ll bring a list of titles to search for, so I don’t get overwhelmed.

Fantastic used bookstore that is divided in to three locations based on topic. The main location also has a wonderful outdoor space and gardens that are a nice place for picnicking and young children. You have to be patient and know what you’re looking for and take your time.

I live right near this place. so I was real anxious to visit this place, and write a five star review. but that's not going to happen. we pull into the parking lot, my dads going to drop me off. I am talking to my dad in the car, seeing what time he will pick me up. this guy, in a staff shirt comes running over to the car knocks on our window and asks if we need help. my dad says no. and tries to explain he is just dropping me off. the guy starts throwing a fit. he says, well you cant park here. my dad was trying to explain, he wasn't parking there he was dropping me off. that wasn't working. the guy in the staff shirt just turned around, and ran away. I said to my dad, lets get out of here. they lost a costumer. and they were probably getting a really good review.

We had a great time visiting the book barn. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I love how the type of books are separated and in different little houses. It's a happy place to be with great deals on books for people who do lots of reading. Like my family.

The selection isn't the best though. I thought I'd find a ton of choice books but I think they go pretty much immediately and you're left with what people haven't wanted to buy for a long time. The only "good" books I got were from piles that just came in so no one else had seen them yet. They're also pricier than I'd expected for a used book store - every book was $4-5 so I wound up spending about $70 for a bag of books.

The condition of many of the books isn't great, and they don't look like they're really taken care of. Many of the buildings are open to the elements, including the sections I was interested in: field guides (in what had been a tiny outhouse with no door) and poetry (on a porch type thing). It was sad that some of the books would have been fine if not left to the elements and not dusted at all over time. They were still $4-5 and will never be sold in their current conditions.

Still a super cool place with very friendly and helpful employees.
