This is more like an awesome museum than a library! It is amazing to see. Simply walking around and taking in the incredible architecture and reading about some of the rare manuscripts, including Egyptian papyrus and ancient scrolls.

Just go and see all of the wonders that this rare book library has to offer to the Yale students and to the world. It is a "do not miss" - especially on a sunny day.

We loved this rare book library. There are no window in this building, for obvious reasons. We learned from our Yale campus tour guide that the panels that make up the walls are a thin marble. When the light hits those panels they seem to...More

Lighting is understandably poor but overall interesting to see the rare treasures, especially all the illuminated manuscripts. Would have liked to join a tour but next time.

I went to two events here in one week...the talk and tea, and the Saturday tour. Both talks were very informative and led by a Yale faculty member who was totally engaged in the manuscripts and artifacts. I highly recommend the tea, as well as...More

In addition to the yale gallery, this is another treasure --if you find yourself in the middle of campus, run to it!

Such a beautiful library! My husband and I have toured it solo and taken a formal tour. Both are enjoyable and if you can’t make a tour don’t be too upset! If you are visting the Yale campus this is a must see!
