I'll comment on the part of the harbor that includes the Long Wharf area, starting near Lenny & Joe's seafood restaurant and ending at the small nature walk/wildlife area. For exercise, I walked this stretch from end to end, round trip, twice. The first time...More

You can look at it but you cannot go on the docks at all. That requires a special pass. Interesting to see the big boats come in with oil for the huge tanks and to see crap metal being hosted aboard for a trip to...More

New Haven harbor ahs a rich history. The earliest settlers came from Massachusetts and chose the location because of its harbor. It later became a sea port through which goods were sent up canal to Hartford and beyond. It could have progressed to be a...More

Ignored, trashed and undeveloped (think what a marvelous opportunity Boston made of its waterfront!), but if you dig a little.... Fort Nathan Hale is a very interesting area for a few hours of wandering and taking in the beauty and history.

This location has a beach, carousel, and is a fun family place in summer. We have attended a graduation party in the pavilion which was catered. i tend to prefer beaches on the sound (Hammonassett and Sherwood Island) rather than the harbor.

New Haven Harbor has a great and rich maritime history that sadly, is not promoted or capitalized upon. The harbor was once the home to shipyards that built large whaling ships, sail and steam powered merchant vessels, military ships used in World Wars I and...More

Not much to say about the Harbor there really isn't much to do. There are some boats you can go out on & lots of food vendors that are mostly Mexican but good

Well, it's dreary, not developed for tourists at all....although they do have the boat ride which is nice. Not really a great water view and the water is certainly not that clean. It's a shame that the long awaited (very very old and a long...More
