I’ve worked on the corner of chapel street for 2+ years, but I’ll try to limit my review to how a tourist would see it. Around the Yale art gallery, very nice with interesting shops and some great restaurants. But once you get close to...More

Yale tried to turn downtown Chapel Street into a destination place. It is now sort of. There are lots of shops and restaurants that attract Yale students, professors, parents, middle and upper class locals. The shops and restaurants are wonderful and delicious. Good strolling. Not...More

I really have to wonder how "Chapel Street" becomes a place to write a review about because, after all, it's a street, not a restaurant or museum, etc..., and it's one of the longest streets in all of New Haven, extending a few miles I'd...More

This cosy little restaurant serving typical North Indian fare is excellent in its ambience along side chapel Street. The interiors are equally appealing to the eye, with a bar sering good wines and spirits. The starters were Aloo Tikki and Paneer pakoras. Very crisply coated...More

This street, from edge of Green up for several blocks, is vibrant books and ethnic eating and coffee and people-watching next to great architecture and galleries.

Great food, bars, art galleries, funky shops, and more. Very charming with historic architecture. Not just Yale, but has many other beautiful buildings as well. Combines elegant old New England with an artsy college town vibe.

Though small in comparison to most cities I've visited, New Haven's downtown area is packed with a variety of attractions, all within a four block radius of midtown Chapel Street. Along the downtown spine of Chapel Street you'll find everything from a variety of fast...More
