Our first visit actually in the Yale campus grounds, for a wedding. Loved it, great area and beautiful building!

Chapel Street, right in the heart of the undergraduate campus area, is the commercial center for Yale. Loads of restaurants and shops, many Yale buildings. Always interesting. I'm not sure I'd think of it as a tourist destination for anyone who didn't either have a connection with Yale or happened to be a New Haven resident. But if you're in... More

Our first time to New Haven included several walks down Chapel Street. Such a beautiful walk with views of old, breathtaking buildings. Crisp, cold air during December, so dress warm. This street gave us such a positive image of New Haven. Simply lovely!

I took a stroll through to kill some time and just had a great time - The air was crisp and cold but not uncomfortable and looking around just made me feel at home (despite never having been there before).

The stores along this popular shopping street have mostly exorbitant prices. I guess that's great if you're young and rich and have to keep up with the latest fashions. What I do like a lot is the architecture of the Yale buildings, and several great museums, all FREE and worth visiting several times a year.

Chapel Street is a main "artery" in and out of New Haven and for Downtown New Haven. Many restaurants, shops, schools, One campus of Yale New Haven Hospital is there. Traffic can get a little crazy at times, but manageable.

Chapel Street runs along one end of the campus. The spectacular Yale Art Gallery fronts Chapel Street, and there are many bars and restaurants on this street or nearby. It is a fun area, particularly the section near the Yale campus.

Beautiful tree lined streets, lovely buildings. A great spot to take a walk around and maybe stop for a coffee or a bite to eat. It has a great range of places to eat from Dunkin Donuts to lovely tea shops, to the very sophisticated Union League Cafe.

Nice historic area to stroll, shop and eat and admire the predominantly brick buildings which represent a wide range of architectural styles.

While walking Chapel St between Temple St and Howe St you'll find a great variety of shops, eateries, and Museums. This is a great place to walk and enjoy with family and friends. You can get breakfast at Atticus or get a cup of coffee at Willoughby's or Starbucks. Take a few pictures of the Yale campus or check out... More
