Walnut Hill park is a beautiful place anytime of the year. The landscaping was done by architect Fredrick Olmstead who also landscaped Central Park NYC. The park once had a public swimming pool with a fountain at the center that doubled as a skating rink in the winter months. Today this area is a beautiful garden. The West side of... More

i love this park. one side has about 1/2 mile loop for runner, rollerblade, dog walkers, jogger, baby stroller etc. and in the middle of the loop is space with playground, exercise tools, baseball, soccer, and tennis court. They have a breast cancer run there yearly for mother's day. the other side has some more historical information and rose garden.

While this park is located near the center of New Britain it is an oasis. Quiet spacious and well groomed. When standing in the Rose Garden the views are stunning as the park is located high on a hill.

Living so close to walnut hill park is one of the reasons I live in New Britain. It's a beautiful spot in all seasons. Great for a walk, run, or just sitting on the benches watching people go by. A great place to take your dog as well and you can feel the sense of community when you are there.... More

Lovely park stretching several blocks in New Britain and backing up to the New Britain Museum of American Art. Run, walk, stroll, or ride a bike around. Enjoy the grass or the trees and flowers. Take the kids to the playground and just let them run around. Bring your lunch and enjoy a lunchtime nature break.

Beautiful rose garden and park in my hometown. Over 800 rose bushes (75 varieties). Offers a nice walk around the park as well.

A hill top gem. Rose garden, unique vegetation, beautiful views of the sunset from marble benches, historic WW I monument and others, a mile long walking pathway and hill top views stretching miles, this is a park! In the evening enjoy a concert at the large band shell. (Best time for roses is June and August.)

Have lunch here several times a year with my elderly mom. Walk around the center of the monument area and lunch in the shaded sitting areas. The roses are awesome and beautiful to see!
