About
Mystic Dark Room is an intimate show lounge offering unique entertainment experiences, accommodating its guests with all front row seating. Up a winding staircase, past the iron and brass gates, guests escape into a chic metro-loft atmosphere, ornamented with leather couches, private tables, larger than life concert style sets, lighting and special effects. This year’s line-up includes a unique grown-up night out with Holiday Spectacular In November and December, Exposure evenings in February and March, and FLESH in March and April. Guest are invited to BYOB, join us early at 6:30 to relax and unwind with wine, champagne, ale or brew – or your non-alcoholic beverage of choice. (We supply wine openers and glasses) Following all shows, the soirée continues with intriguing interactions between guests and artists, our friendly cast that will gladly – pose for souvenir photos following the show. As always we encourage you to take advantage of the dance floor and light show.

Mystic Dark Room is a unique experience. Walking into the event space takes you out of Mystic Connecticut and into another world. The setting is slightly industrial, with mood lighting and music setting the scene as you are shown to your seat.
Mystic Dark Room hosts a realm of dance experiences. Just last weekend, the Company just wrapped its run of "The Little Mermaid." I had the pleasure of seeing this show and it was a perfect family experience, especially for little Disney aficionados. The one hour performance was spot on; high caliber dance, with humor mixed into the sweet story of Ariel's journey to becoming a human.
Mystic Dark Room also hosts other dance experiences such as GRAB- in house choreography that brings NYC to Mystic. There is really nothing like it anywhere else in the area.
You're up close and personal at Mystic Dark Room, as well. There is one row of seating- so every seat is a front row seat to the show. You'll feel like the dancers are performing just for you. And after the performance concludes, you'll get a chance to meet the dancers, ask questions, pose for pictures. The Company hails from all over the world; they are lovely and happy to speak with you and share in your opinions of their performance.
I would highly recommend taking in a performance at Mystic Dark Room, with the family, or as a great date night experience.

This was our first visit to the new performance space of Mystic Ballet. We were amazed how professional, intimate, and inviting the space was. Every seat is fantastic and at times the dancers are just a few feet away from where you sit. You can bring your own beverages and enjoy this very unique performance space. The dancing, as always, is superb, athletic, and exciting. The dancers are recruited and hand picked from all over the world so it is truly an international event. We look for to returning again and again for a wonderful night of entertainment that cannot be found anywhere else. BTW, after the show the dancers all mingle with the audience and are happy to take photos with audience members and answer questions, chat, etc; another rare feature of this company.

If you are a fan of the Arts or just someone who wants to be amazed, this show is a must see! International dancers give you an up-close display of their talents. All in a dark space with the lighting and sound found only in major market venues. Intimate seating is limited but don't forget a bottle of wine. Perfect for a "Date Night" or couples and groups just wanting a different experience. I only wish that more performance dates were available for us to enjoy.

Fun & interactive. Not sure what the VIP package changed, so maybe avoid the up charge for that. I love chocolate cake.

One single word. Emotional. The show captures you and without words escalates your emotions to the point you forget you are watching a show. The dancers are well trained and give you everything they have. They love what they are doing and the emotion on their face shows it every... single .. second! My challenge to the audience is to find that moment in the show when the music stops, but the dance goes on. You will be delighted if you don't notice, but amazed further if you catch what I'm hinting at. I will be attending their shows regularly from this time forward. I forgot how fun the arts can be. Thank you to all the performers.

We really didn’t know what to expect and the website doesn’t give a lot of info. We’re a couple in our 40s and saw that this was the #1 thing to do in Mystic, so we decided to go. The “house” is in the middle of suburbia, not downtown. So either drive your own car or be prepared to tell your Uber driver how to get there.
You will enter a “house” that looks grander than it is. I think it used of be the home of the Mystic Ballet. You’re led to your seat- water bottles, glasses, wine opener and a small bowl of snacks await you.
The show started about 7:10. For 80 minutes you are treated to dynamic dancing/ gymnastics, with some audience participation. There is no doubt the performers are talented. At the end of the show they approach you to talk to you and are open to questions.
The bottom line… if you love seeing dance and have a free night in Mystic, go! But notice that the trip advisor reviews tend to be from people who have only reviewed this place/ show.
We’re just not sure what this is meant to be… sexy? Entertaining? We met another couple who have been 3 times.

This show is fantastic! I saw it last year as well, and neither time disappointed. The atmosphere is one of a kind, and all the dancers bring their own kind of magic to the performance. Will be coming back.

I watched this show for the first time with my husband on 25th March 2022... I was not prepared for the incredible experience that we had!
It was an absorbing and immersive performance, we were enthralled. The dancers are all amazing, all conveying the dance pieces to the audience with every fibre of their being. They are so talented, we have never been moved by a show so much, not ever!! You made us react in ways we have never experienced before, emotions we didn't know we had!
The atmosphere and set was incredible, costumes too. The seating was very comfortable and close to the performers, which made the show even more magical.
I highly recommend this show, see it or regret it forever!

What a great night! Up close and personal with an amazing group of extremely talented and professional dancers. Not your typical ‘ballet’ experience...Highly recommended for everyone...dance enthusiasts and dance novices alike. You definitely won’t regret it!
