For nearly 70 years, we have provided visitors the opportunity to experience nature first hand, whether it be on our 10+ miles of trails, in our natural history museum, our Nature Store, or as part of one of our many programs. The creation of the Coogan Farm Nature and Heritage Center in 2013 has added additional layers of education, history, and ecology to our offerings. Our mission is to inspire an understanding of the natural world and ourselves as part of it - past, present and future. It is our hope that through DPNC and Coogan Farm that we will help our visitors foster a personal environmental ethic.

Beautiful Birds of Prey

Had a wonderful day looking at their birds of prey and spending a few hours walking around their trails. Even in the middle of winter it was a great walk!

Thank you so much for visiting! This is wonderful time of year to walk our trails - hunt for tracks and animal dens! It's so quiet now (and no bugs!) But please come back in spring, summer and fall - every day is different in nature! More

Thanks for coming back! If we get good snow this winter, you must come back and snowshoe Coogan Farm - one of the highest points in Mystic and in the winter the views from the top of the Mystic River and out to the drawbridge are amazing! More

Gee, kinda steep cost for a Nature Center. The tree in the middle of the building is kinda cool. Otherwise, not all that much going for it. Don't forget the pest repellent! There is parking available and a nice farmer's market on Sunday afternoon across the street during the Summer months.

Hello! Thanks for visiting recently! Our admission for adults every day is $8, and for children and seniors it's $5 - unless you visited on Sept. 27, which was our Wild Mushroom Festival - admission that day is $20 for adults and $10 for kids, and it includes food tickets as this is a wonderful foodie event at which local... We have taken classes there & attended events like their Halloween Trail & Easter Egg Hunt. Now my little one is in the Mommie & Me class. She loves it! We do a craft, read a... More

Beautiful area, stopped off for a short walk and was surprised by the fields of wild flowers. The tranquil lake and woods added to this little gem.

I always enjoy visiting this kind of venue but perhaps our choice of time to visit was not the best time to see what all the other reviewers enjoyed. We were greeted by a very helpful and nice lady and given info regarding the map we received. We went out and I found the 4-5 cages with the raptors/owls disappointing... More

We stopped by he aquarium and then this was our second stop. Very friendly lady welcomed U.S. and explained everything. There was camp going on and there was a group of students there. Nice hiking trails. Nice little shop. Rescue birds of prey were there. There were owls, a Peregrine falcon, red tail Hawks.

There were not many "live" animals to see. Lots of trails for hiking and a great indoor exhibit for seeing night creaturs in their own habitat.
