We visited on a cold January day and despite the weather spent quite a bit of time on this ship. The history of this ship and the whaling industry is fascinating. The boat itself has been restored and in very good condition to the point that it is able to still sail around. There was a docent on the ship to answer questions and we had quite a few. The whole ship is accessible and is really worth the time to visit to get a good idea about the conditions that were endured for this industry

The museum has been very well maintained. We were last there 60 years ago. The shops, the crafts, the whaling ship were a delight to visit. Luckily in early Dec., not much of a crowd so we had time to talk with the docents, who were all very knowledgeable.

The Charles W. Morgen is a beautifully restored 19th Century American whaling ship, the very last existing example of a once common type of ship. Both the deck of the ship and the crew quarters below it are available to tour; you can see both how the crew lived on its lengthy voyages and how each whale was processed into whale oil onboard. The Morgen was restored just a few years ago (it can now sail to local ports), so everything is is good condition. An interesting way to see a lifestyle and industry once important to American history.

The Charles Morgan is the last whaling ship left from that era. it is located at the Mystic seaport. You can go onboard and walk thru the ship to learn about the whaling industry. They also have docents onboard to answer your questions.

Charles W. Morgan is the only whale hunting ship afloat in the world, it’s interesting to visit and explore this ship, as part of Mystic Seaport Museum. The ‘guide’ was passionate and very helpful in explaining about the history of the ship. Go and explore it yourself while in Mystic.

The Charles W. Morgan is the oldest whaling vessel still afloat. It is docked in the Mystic Seaport Museum, and guests of the museum and climb aboard and take a look. It was nice, too, that there were staff members aboard to answer questions and point things out. Though not a fan of whaling (but a huge fan of whales), I still could appreciate the history to the boat.

Even though off-season, the ship was open for self-touring. COVID restrictions in place (one way walking, posted signs asking for social distancing). Interesting and worth the time.

Go below decks on this historic ship and you will be amazed that men spent years aboard it. The quarters are so cramped and the ceilings so low. It's wonderful that Mystic Seaport has kept this floating piece of history in such great condition--so much so that they actually took it out into the ocean a few years ago.

I toured this boat as a young child. Returning years later brought back memories of things past. Classic New England history is alive and well at the Charles W. Morgan. Highly recommend.

Stopped by the Mystic Seaport and after paying a good bit of change for entrance, I expected something more. No guides, no information, nothing. Just walked around and the ship needed a story, an explanation, something to catch your attention. Very sad.
