Great pretend play experience for 2-5 year olds! Had two 2 year olds, one 3 year old, and one 4 year old. Loved all the play areas that allow kids to imagine! The dinosaurs tucked into an alcove were a hit when the older two needed a break from the crowd. The boat and fish were popular although the boys fought over the fish! Never enough! The block room was a nice place to calm down and create as well as share with other kids. The oldest boy loved the medieval room, flinging the balls and building with blocks. We brought lunch and had plenty if room to eat and drink before returning to play. I am sad that COVID has limited these play spaces, but look forward to returning when safe. I hope our family membership is pro-rated! I have not checked. Great space, miss KID CITY!

Thank you so much for this generous review! We can't wait till we can re-open, but we'll have to wait until we can be sure it is both safe AND fun at Kidcity - so far, we don't know when that will be. Your membership is frozen in time...you'll have as much time left as you did when we closed (3/12/20). We'll also let families decide when they want to re-start their membership clock, just in case they aren't ready to come back out and play yet. We are especially grateful you wrote this review during the shut-down! It's lovely to remember all the laughter that happens at the museum...and will again some day!

This is a wonderful way to spend a few hours with a 3-6 year old (ideal age range, your mileage may vary). Lots of creative opportunities. Puppet theater, medieval courtyard with "corn harvesting," and fishing ship all engage young ones imagination. Our niece had a terrific time, and we did as well.

Every room has a theme and a different way to play. My children really enjoyed the hands on aspect. We spent a lot of time in the Italian themed room feeding handkerchiefs into the fountain and watching them float.

We took our 1 year old to kid city because our daycare provider had recommended it. They supposedly have an area just for babies. It was our daughters birthday so we thought we would give it a try. The museum is definately great for older kids. As we were walking in there were a few kids crying as they were leaving with their parents because they did not want to leave. There are 3 floors divided into different "theme" rooms like the farm, theatre etc. There is plenty to do for kids here. We were concerned about parking, there is parking on the premises but very limited and the rest is metered parking. Middletown is very busy and we did not want to cross the streets with our baby. Strollers are not allowed in the museum nor is food. The areas are very tight- great for kids but not for parents waiting around. We went during the week and so it was not that busy and we still found it to be tight. We went to the farm area which was supposed to be baby friendly. Did not spend much time there, with 3 kids and 2 parents already there it was already cramped. Also, we could not let our baby crawl around with toddlers running around. We proceeded to the lower leverl which is restricted only to kids 3 years old and younger. There were less people here here when we arrived. We loved that all shoes had to come off and that they offer socks for visitors. Our daughter loved the mirror area and started crawling around and having fun. It did not last long though, a group of 3 year olds came trhough and almost trampled her over as she was crawling. The area would have been perfect if it was restrcited to crawlers and younger. It definately was not safe to have your baby crawling while other kids were running around. As we were leaving we saw other parents coming in with kids that were definately older than 3. Obviously they do not monitor it. I think the museum is definately great for older kids. I would not take kids 2 years or younger.

I purchased a membership to kid city after visiting once and loving the kids caves, an area for children under 2 at the museum. The artwork and concepts of the museum are very creative. We have been at least 6 times and always stumble on a new unique detail that we never noticed before. My sons favorite areas are the caves, the fish room and the music area.

my kids went too long ago so not a good judge but I think kids really enjoy it but for younger kids like 6 would be the oldest age I would recommend

We took our 2 little ones there today. We all had fun! Got there around noon and left at closing. I am exceptionally impressed with the way they maintain the restrooms. Last time we were there was about 2 years ago and we noticed they now have a “kit” which not only had spare diapers of various sizes but also pants for accidents. I did not get to ask but we could donate some clothes to the museum for this purpose. I hope to remember to call. The rest of the museum are clean, I’d like to know if they sanitize the toys and areas as you know how kids are but some adults were coughing on pretend food without covering their mouths. We steered clear from those toys, obviously. But who knows what others might have touched and done that we did not see. The floor play area seemed to be a new addition. Nice addition, in fact! The wooden blocks were enough for a few kids to share.

There were patrons today though that reeked of cat pee/ feces. It was too strong of a smell that you knew exactly who they were and where they were in a room. We wished the staff did something about it. It was so bad people left an area whenever they would move into the room. It was unhealthy for the little ones to be exposed to. Glad this was towards closing time. I hope next time, Kidcity will ensure our children will not be subjected to unhealthy stench such as that of today. We are all sharing a space and we need to advocate for the little ones who are being exposed to smells and possible diseases.

Our two-year-old had a blast at this place. Lots of rooms to explore and had a variety of activities. She loved the hands-on nature of this place and so did we! We lucked out and our visit happened to be when it was free for military families, which was even more awesome. The only down side to this place is it can get pretty crowded, especially on a rainy day. But that just because it is a popular place to go. :)

Great place for kids to amuse themselves. Adults must pay the same amount for kids which is $10. I went there with (4)adults & a 6yo. Parking is a $1/hr via meters. There is nothing for adults except to watch their children. There is a little place to purchase t-shirts and books. My personal feelings is that adults should be at reduced price

This is a relatively small museum, but certainly one packed with a lot of fun for the little ones. There are things to do with magnets, aerodynamics, music, trains, boats, shopping for groceries and many other activities. It is a small scale version of many other bigger children's museums in other cities. It provides a lot of fun and intellectual stimulation for young children. My older grandchild - 4.5 years - only wanted to play with the trains; my younger one - 1.5 years - was fascinated by about everything he saw until he, too, wanted to play with the trains. We visited in September 2016. It was a hot day. The air conditioner either wasn't on or wasn't working and some of the rooms were way too hot. We stayed out of the music room upstairs because of the heat. Visit on a cool day.

Hi Myra, You're quite right! Our air conditioner went on the fritz one day in September, and like the frogs in the pot, we didn't notice for several hours. It's all fixed now, but I'm so sorry you had a bad visit! Hope you have a chance to visit again with your little ones on a cooler day (and let me know if we can send you some passes so the next visit is on us!! director@kidcitymuseum.com) -Jen Alexander for Kidcity
