We visited the campus for the 1st time this past weekend to watch our grandson's 1st football game. He is a freshman. The team won and he had limited playing time. After the game, we had a chance to talk with him. He absolutely loves the place! We met some of his friends and teammates and coaches. He has nothing but positive comments, he was glowing. We are very pleased for him. He had several choices of colleges to attend. After his visit to Wesleyan, he knew! For him, great choice.

Attending Wesleyan has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. This liberal arts education is phenomenal and I look forward to going to class everyday. The campus is beautiful in all seasons and has lots of interesting creatures like black-haired squirrels roaming around. It’s a wonderful community that I feel very lucky to be apart of.

You are looking at Wesleyan? I'll save the sales pitch for after you get in and focus on WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE JUST VISITING. This list assumes you've already been on the tour. --see the Zilka Gallery and the Davison Art Center, and the Cinema center. These are FREE museums in small sizes, just steps from each other. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Kids in tow and they are bored? Small enough they can stand this visit, or let them play on the grass while you are inside. It's safe. --check out the message stands in this same CFA area (with the gray buildings) to see what other exhibits or events are happening while you are here --At the student center get the month's listing of movies. There is a film on 4/7 days of the week. --And also at the student center see about music, dance, theater. This place gets world-class arts --Keep checking out those kiosks for the TONS of other student-led theater, dance, music, parties. --Go in Olin library. It is so pretty. --Go in the chapel too. It's pretty. --Admire the main field. In fall and spring there are folks studying or playing on the hill, or baseball or football games in the center. In winter folks of all ages sled. --Night owl? See if the observatory has a viewing while you are in town.

I return to Wesleyan yearly or more often. It is not a tourist destination. I return so often because of the people who work, teach, and study here. If you are a prospective student, do not just drive around the campus area. The drive is interesting, but you should stop at the admissions office on Wyllis Ave. to meet students and see the campus from that perspective.

It's one of the best liberal arts universities in the country, it's part of the "Little Ivy League", its rowing team is third in the NESCAC, their president tweets, and he's written a super famous book, (lol I'm sure he's done more than that), they respect both Republic and Liberal points of view on campus, atleast they try to. They have great food, and world class film and Theatre Program and the list goes on. The only thing are freshman dorms and the freshman bathrooms. Ewww. Yuk!! They need to work on that. But the dorm rooms have AC so that's nice. Bowdoin has better Freshman dorms by far in terms of size. But then they don't have AC. My kid seems pretty happy at Wesleyan. What more can you ask for?
