I had a great time there. 2019 may I was there by myself, a 33 yr old white male. Locals were friendly & even the young ones. I was talking & hanging out with the natives there. Everyone was smiling & had good vibes.

We came on a Wednesday night in May 2021. Because of covid they have really scaled things back… it’s not really a “night market” anymore, but rather just a place to listen to live local music. They opened at 6, had a $20 per person cover charge (kids are free), and there was only one booth to get food and drinks with no other vendors (in the past they had many food, drink, crafts etc vendors). The music was good (if a bit loud) and the food was so-so but reasonably priced (for Hawaii anyway). So for now at least, even though it really is a great slice of the “real” Hawaii, it is probably not worth the long drive that most visitors would need to make. I sure hope that once covid is behind us, that this place goes back to the way it used to be!

We drove here for music and dinner on a Saturday night. It is way out there and all closed up. Fortunately, there is a mini market there too, which we didn't see until another car pulled up. There we were able to get some sandwiches thank goodness! The woman working the counter said Uncle Robert's is open weekdays and the Saturday AM market is great, but the weekends are only for family events. The food at the market is very expensive, even by HI standards, but it is convenient and we were grateful for it!

I visited Uncle Robert’s this evening. Upon my arrival I was greeted by someone who told me that the market and everything has been canceled. However, a good band was playing on stage, with lights and professional sound system. I tried standing and watching the band, and I was enjoying the music. The same man returned to shoo me away saying that everything is canceled. Others were allowed to stay and enjoy the music. It seemed to me that the live music is only for locals.

A great place! Beautiful location, interesting people, many great and reasonably priced food stalls, lots of cool craft stalls. Plus live music Wed and Sat! Fun! And you're supporting local folks.

Our Hawaiian friends took us here to experience some of the local color. It's a weekly (Wednesday nights) farmers market / arts and crafts fair/food court along with Hawaiian music and dance. It's off the beaten path and probably not high on the priority list of must-see/must-do for the average tourist.

Uncle Robert's Wednesday night has become a local tradition. Imagine a farmers market combined with a craft fair combined with a bar and an international food Court. Throw in live music and dancing and there you have it. Great fun.

Rustic outdoor operation serving up decent food and a good time. Cool outdoor bar serving stiff drinks with great service. Local gathering spot....

I went to the Farmers Market about 15 years ago and it was nice. Great group of locals and wanna be locals and good food. Friendly atmosphere and good conversation. We went back this past summer and it has changed.Shoulder to shoulder people and many weird people. The food was decent but it was so crowded that there was no place to sit. There was open discussion about drugs being sold and used and that was uncomfortable.Parking is okay as long as people were willing to pay but many were so cheap they would rather park along the road and walk a mile rather than paying $5 to park. Top that off with people breaking into cars and locals that lived on the main road leaving nasty note on peoples cars parked in front of their houses. Not a place for kids.

Seriously. Some folks are bigoted, ignorant, or just have an axe to grind. I've been to the Wednesday market twice, and a friend who lives five miles away has been going most Wednesday nights for years. It's a fun, safe, high energy experience, with great music, dancing, and good food. I've been to 45 states and 10 countries, and I've never been to anything quite like it.
