This lake is ok but always seems to be closed due to contamination of the water. Not sure of the specific issues but we avoid Hot Brook until they fix the problem.

This place is absolutely disgusting. there were used maxi pads floating in the water, dirty diapers just sitting on the sand, water bottles and other trash every where. So many sand flies biting me and my kids. Duck poop was everywhere. Our visit was about 10 minutes. Never again!

Why don't people pick up after their dogs. Makes me fear ever getting near the water. You've driven by on Straits Parkway for years and never really knew that it was here. It is a place to take a stroll and meditate for a while, but it is no Walden Pond.

We used this as a stop to stretch our legs on our trip. It has a small parking area right off the road during the off-season. We walked down to the lake and realized that if we were going to do the trails we should wear our hiking shoes. The road and parking areas down by the lake were muddy. The trail that supposedly goes around the lake ends on either side of the dam. There are other marked and unmarked trails in the park. Just be cautious of what trail you are on.

Looks like the running trails are pretty, but I’d be hesitant to ever visit again. Party hangout for teens playing obnoxious music, stagnant, dirty “pond”, cigarette butts in the sand...I’d stay away.
