An ordinary beach made awesome by turtle nesting & the Kalipur Beach Hatchery.
Feb 2020
There is no beach at Diglipur as it is just a sleepy town of North Andaman. The beach is located 17 Kms away from Diglipur & called Kalipur Beach. It's majorly rocky & has grey sand & not so great. But the turtle nesting activity during Nov-Feb months makes it awesome. Visitors walk along leisurely at midnight in search of these turtles. It's a safe place even at that odd hour. Star gazing is another attraction & so is the nearby Turtle Hatchery set up on the beach itself.

Turtle nesting at Kalipur beach is the highlight
Dec 2019
As just a beach, the Kalipur beach is and average beach. And it is not a very clean beach, either. But the highlight has to be the opportunity to see turtle nesting
We were there in the last week of December, which is apparently the beginning of the nesting season.
We (along with several other people residing at the Pristine Beach Resort) went down to the beach at 8PM and sat in await for turtle(s) to come ashore to lay the eggs. Finally around 10:30PM, an Olive Ridley turtle came ashore, found a spot and started laying her eggs.
It was a really rewarding experience to see the turtle lay the eggs, cover up the pit without a trace and head back to the water.
What was very disturbing, though, was the insensitivity of many of the people watching this. People were obsessed with getting ''selfies'', and getting close-up photos/videos of the actions; thereby leading to getting too close to the turtle, and using camera flashes and flashlights and generally creating a commotion.
I do wish future tourists get to see the sight of turtle nesting, but also request all to be a bit more considerate and give some room and space to the turtles..

Diglipur itself has no beach; this review pertains to the lovely Kalipur beach
Dec 2019
Diglipur itself has no beach; this review pertains to Kalipur beach, about a half hour away by road, past Aerial bay, accessible by auto or local bus. Kalipur beach is a lovely, uncrowded, isolated beach, extending for miles and miles, home to nesting sea turtles, and occasional stands of mangroves trying to reclaim the land from the sea. Lots of tide pools and exposed corals during low tide.

That's what fond memories are made of.....
Apr 2019 • Family
The peace and quietitude of the Kalipur beach in Diglipur, the breathtaking views of sunrise & sunset respectively, our little child's fascination with the numerous crabs running on the beach and making crab holes.....all this helps bring only peace, joy & happiness in your heart. Our stay for around a week at the Pristine Resort was extremely comfortable and memorable, thanks to Alex, his Mom & the friendly staff at the resort. The team goes all out to ensure that the guests have a pleasant stay in all respects and enjoy the serenity of Diglipur to the fullest. Thanks to everyone at Pristine Resort and we shall visit you again !

Heaven on earth Ross & Smith
Feb 2019 • Couples
Hi
I visited Diglipur in February month. From port Blair you have to travel by car to reach here. It’s a 15-16 Hour tough journey. Road conditions are very bad to reach here. I started at 3.00 am in morning and reached here at 6.30 pm after 2-3 halts. There r lot of checking in this journey due to Jarawa tribals which waste almost 2-3 hours .
Diglipur is a place who live to travel, who is adventures and love peace and calm.
Once u reach diglipur then u will love the beauty of Ross and smith island. 2 islands which are separated with white sand .
You can see turtle nesting also in diglipur at kalipur beach.

Unique experience in Andaman
Oct 2018 • Couples
Witness Turtle Nesting at Diglipur (December to Jan end is the best time as turtles go through a gestation period, roaming on the beaches of Ramnagar at Diglipur).
One of the offbeat experiences in Andaman
