If I am in the country and I am in CT, this is where I come to find great books. I always find a great book on Africa history or current events that I would never find at the big bookstore chains. Great staff. Great atmosphere.

If small, local bookstores are to survive, this is the model. Based on the staff and their expertise, you are compelled to walk out of here with a handful (or, actually, armful) of new books. Their extensive reviews and suggestions, incredible breadth and depth of knowledge, and their amazing author and speaker series are the template for other local Book... More

The quintessential small town book store and so much more! Nice coffee shop in the rear of the shop. Great selection of books with very attentive staff that are helpful but not overwhelming. Multiple selections and comfy chairs make this an enjoyable spot to browse away!

Places like this are becoming more and more of a rarity. A true, small-town, independent bookstore complete with recommendations from the well-read staff. There's something very nostalgic and calming about just being there. Great cafe and gift section, too.

I live out of state but make sure to stop by whenever in the area. A paragon of indies with tons of author readings and signed copies, they've got an excellent selection of books, and an attached gift shop and cafe (which I've never ate at but have heard good things about). Staff are friendly & helpful.

What a find! In addition to being a charming bookstore, they have a fantastic cafe! Gourmet quality grilled cheese sandwiches, scrumptious savory flatbreads, and mouthwatering cupcakes, they are a hidden gem!! Grab a book and a flatbread and enjoy a table outback. Fantastic!

A great store with a big selection of books and a very knowledgeable staff. Staff picks and comments are noted on the shelves and the staff is very helpful. Also a great cafe with indoor & outdoor seating.

Food was great, limited menu but it was good food. We had fun growing through the bookstore and ended up getting a few books and a great lunch.

You could get lost in this bookstore for hours! Relaxing environment with a cafe in the back. Very helpful customer service. Book recommendations labeled throughout the store. Excellent children's section upstairs with preschool through teen selections.
