Chessell Pottery Barns is a family owned working pottery in the heart of the West Wight countryside - this complex of converted barns consists of a Studio where all ages can paint their own pottery, a beautiful Gift Barn selling Chessell Ware(our own pottery made onsite) as well as the largest range of Emma Bridgewater Pottery on the Island, plus a great selection of toys, gifts and home made preserves. There is also a Cafe , where chef Bridget Wells prepares simple, light lunches from fresh local ingredients, as well as an array of home baked cakes and an award winning Cream Tea featuring our own home made strawberry jam, and served on the pottery's own pretty Strawberry Ware pottery in the relaxing courtyard garden. The Chessell Cafe also serves light lunches, full Afternoon Teas on a 3-tier stand, and is now licensed to sell wines and local Ales. There is a spacious four star holiday cottage onsite which sleeps 7, so why not stay at the pottery, enjoy a cream tea on arrival and have a go at painting your own pottery during your stay!

The cafe was busy but we found a table outside and enjoyed a delicious frittata and lunch box style salad. The service was friendly though not exceptional

This was one of the best cream teas I've had, Scones were scrumptious as was the home made jam and clotted cream. The staff were great too,

Really lovely place for a savoury or sweet afternoon tea. Friendly and helpful staff. We sat in the garden area in the sun which was really nice. Good choice of seating inside or outside either in the sun or shade.
