We visited Cedar Hill Cemetery (near Trinity College) during a photo scavenger hunt my daughter was doing for her ASL class. Buried here is Thomas Gallaudet (founder of the School for the Deaf) along with many notable business people (the Heubleins, the Colts, Pratts, and Whitneys, oh my! Katherine Hepburn is there too. It is a lovely place, naturally beautiful... More

The Halloween-season Lantern Tour exceeded my expectations! Book early-we almost missed out! There are a dozen costumed characters scattered throughout the lantern-lit stroll -including some really, really interesting folks like Ernest Hemingway! Planning on doing this as a yearly event!

This is a good cemetery to tour and walk around. It is very well-kept and beautiful. There is a lot of history here and the gateway is very impressive. We saw some very nice markers and sculptures.

We "scattered" my father's ashes in Jacob's Way, and it is beyond beautiful. Neal was very accommodating, and the lake/pond full of water lilies and geese and ducks was perfect. It was so lovely and peaceful, I hope I can be buried in a place like that someday myself.

First time visit to this very lovely setting, for a free "Tree Buffs Tour" we saw advertised in a AAA publication. The tour guides were knowledgeable, personable, and attentive to the many people on the walking tour. The trees, many of them rare species, were quite photogenic, as were the surrounding flowers, ponds and various wildlife/nature. There are a number... More

The cemetery has guide materials at the main entrance. We spent time visiting the graves of Katharine Hepburn, Samuel Colt, and J P Morgan.

One of the most beautifully kept cemeteries I have ever been to. The grounds are immaculate. Thank you.

Really pretty trees, ponds, buildings, and old headstones. Pretty big and has an interesting cell phone tour. Can be driven or walked.

A very large cemetery with beautiful surroundings. Get the pamphlets before entering the cemetery, they give you all the information about the place. Cell phone tours available. The history here is incredible, the people you meet here visiting their loved ones are interesting too. We got a lot of history on people who were not in the pamphlets. We spent... More

Seems strange to say that a cemetary is one of my favorite places, but this one is loaded with history and beauty. My husband and I walk here almost 3-4 times per week. Never gets boring. Absolutely beautiful. My favorite section is the older section. Make sure to pick up a map and see all the history here!
