Situated in the center of Hartford right down the hill from the Capitol building, this is a large park with grassy fields, playing fields, impressive stone arch monument to the Civil War, carousel, and lake with fountain. Only missing the most important thing in a...More

A lovely walk through a very clean, sunny day. Saw heron near the fountain. People eating lunches, ride on carrousel. Just lovely!

There is plenty of space for you to either be on your own or hang out with a group (like we did, the day after the wedding we came into Hartford for originally).

It is a small park and is actually very busy. There are a few ponds and ducks. The squirrels are looking for food so if you bring some bread they will come. Great break from the grind of life.

I really don't know, I didn't see anyone with a dog and I just had one visit there as it was across the street from my hotel.
