Took kids (6, 9, and 12 years) to the state capitol for a tour. It was an amazingly beautiful building and the tour lets you sit in the Charter Oak chair (for the Lieutenant Governor) and all sorts of behind the scene peeks. Saw the actual governor going up the stairs to his office! Kids loved it and I loved... More

We were only in Hartford briefly on a Sunday and stopped by the State Capitol - it was deserted, we were the only ones walking about and looking at it so were able to get some good pictures. Lovely building

Visiting in summer but we were pleasantly surprised at how well the gardens are landscaped and maintain. Such a hot, humid day but walking through the gardens was so peaceful and serene. Oh and the building was pretty impressive too!

Visited with my wife during a 6,000 mile road trip from and to Chicago. We have visited most of the State Capitol buildings in America as we are about to complete our visits to all 50 States on this tour. This is a magnificent building and visually one of the best. Inside it is similar to all the others which... More

The architecture of this building is magnificent! We saw a picture of the building in our Ct. travel book and were so captured by the book's picture, we had to see it in person...it leaves you speechless. As we were walking up to the building, Connecticut's Lieutenant Governor, Nancy Wyman, made it a point to stop and introduce herself and... More

Wife and I visited here the other night with our pet corgi to visit the Capitol so we can get to all 50. Building was very large and impressive. Can see it for several miles. The grounds were very well taken care of. Pet waste stations around the property. Connecticut residents can take pride in their capitol.

What a beautiful building and the connecting Legislative Building where the tours begin is magnificent. Our tour guide, Paul, was very knowledgeable and very accommodating of our Senior group. He took time to answer questions while giving us the ability to see both chambers, who were not in session, but beautiful! The marble, stained glass and hand painted walls were... More

If you like fine old places, there's marble everywhere. I go to a meeting there so have not had a tour, but do look forward to it each time. Wonderful building.

We love to visit state capitols when we travel. Right in the middle of downtown Hartford is Connecticut's beautiful state capitol. It was easy to drive right up to it and is conveniently located next to the Interstate. There is a large landscaped park area in front of it where people were sitting and enjoying the great weather. We found... More

We took a morning walk in the parks around this magnificent building. Unfortunate it was closed as it was a Sunday. Anyway it was worth a visit.
