Safe and friendly

Outdoors farmers market run fantastically. Especially during the pandemic great care taken for everyone’s well being. Great selection of different local suppliers!! Dog friendly but watch they don’t steal a fish (like mine did) when you’re not looking... shame....

Have you visited Ripley Farmers Market?
Sep 2020
I visited the very first Ripley Farmers Market here on the Green and enjoy supporting and promoting the primary producers. Lots to see, taste and buy, plus opportunity to chat to the friendly stall holders and visitors.

Fantastic farmers market
Aug 2020
This is truly a fantastic village farmers market where the committee have clearly thought about the stalls that they want to attract. All are relatively local and there are several from Ripley itself. I highly recommend the Ripley gin and Iain's sausages. Jakes Pies also rank very highly and the fruit and veg stall is superb, as is Georgina's meat stall. An absolute must to go there on a regular basis knowing you are helping local quality producers at keen prices. And the committee are all friendly and helpful too. Please go!

Brilliant market

Fantastic locally run market. The stalls are well stocked with gorgeous locally sourced products. The volunteers are very helpful and always smiling, and it’s easy to see how much they love their monthly market. Will definitely be going back each month.

Not very local and not much to do with farmers
Aug 2020 • Couples
I won't bother going again because I went twice and it was half a dozen stalls selling plants, shawls, gin, dog beds and olive oil (never knew olive oil was made in Surrey). I would rather go to the farm shop up the road where I can buy local fresh produce like fruit, veg and meat.

Hi thank you for your review however we believe you must be confusing our market with the French market that is also held on the village green. We are the local farmers market and have local food we don’t sell olive oil dog beds or shawls. Although we agree that the local farm shop is excellent and well worth a visit.

Fantastic market with lots of interesting local stalls.
Aug 2020
Fantastic market with lots of interesting local stalls. There were several stalls from Ripley village itself and lots from the nearby villages and towns.
Delicious hot food to eat there and lots to take back home too.
There was a nice community buzz and the volunteers there were efficient and helpful. Very dog friendly (there is even a dog stall).
Will definitely be returning.

Over priced and not that local in my opinion
Jul 2020 • Friends
Unfortunately it’s very average. I don’t see the point as there are no local farmers at this market that I know. What there is locally is people who buy a house and field and call it a farm wilst not liking working farmers. I was left feeling very disappointed by the row after row of not very interesting things for sale at prices most families could not afford or want to pay. Local and fresh and available at the next fake farmers market down the road in Kent or Hampshire or the isle of white is not my thing.

Thank you for taking the time to review our award winning local farmers market again, your previous review under your former TripAdvisor handle was removed by trip advisor but rest assured we do appreciate our customer’s feedback both positive and negative. We especially welcome the wonderful opportunity this give us to address any misconceptions about our market that potential visitors may have. I hope that our response will help persuade you and others that are reading it that we are far from a "fake" farmers market. Our market features many stalls whose producers are based in Ripley itself, Deans Bees selling honey from hives on a farm within walking distance of the village green. You know you want me a small family business based in Ripley, making jams and chutneys mainly from produce grown on their allotment. Special plants who grow their plants in a nursery on Gambles lane in Ripley. Distillers of Surrey are run by a local family, they make their Gin in Ripley. Recently they have been supplying our hand sanitiser too, so our visitors can comply with strict hygiene requirements during the pandemic. Under one mile from Ripley in Ockham, is Iain Spigs, Iain is a small holder specialising in rare breed high welfare pork. He definitely considers himself a farmer even though his land isn't a huge industrial farm. We feel adds to his appeal and he offers tours of his farm so you wouldn't have to travel far to visit or buy his sausages if you wanted an opportunity to meet him and perhaps change your opinion? Under 2 miles from Ripley are Eden Greens a small family business growing microgreens. Well-Seasoned Kitchen specialising in pies and soups made mainly from produce that is hone grown. Hotpods Chili Sauce again a small family business producing sauces and condiments from home grown chilli plants. Under 5 miles from Ripley: Binary Botanicals selling an innovative brewed drink, an alternative to beer or sparkling wine. The Little Indian Kitchen an award winning local business making curries and Indian meals to take away and hot samosas freshly cooked. Within Surrey Simons Eggs again a family run farm in Horley. Further afield: The Wild Fish Project, based in Portland Dorset. There is no sea in Ripley. Sometimes we do have guest food and craft stalls and some stalls do come from further away such as the Isle of Wight tomatoes and Hampshire game this is because there is demand for their produce and we haven’t been able to source a more local producer. As well as giving opportunity to locals and small businesses to sell their wares at fair prices we are a community interest company and as such we are volunteer run and donate all profits to local good causes and charities. There are many more stalls to enjoy along with the above so please do pop along again maybe you could be persuaded that our market is your thing?

Good but Could Easily be Great
Jun 2018 • Friends
There's some impressive fresh produce on display at the market of course, as well as some frozen game, some jarred sauces and various alcoholic drink stalls, etc. Music was provided by a choir and then a two man band, so fun to have something playing in the background as you shop and relax. Where the market doesn't meet its full potential is there wasn't enough variety in the food being offered go eat there and then on the day as a snack/meal - at least not on the day I took a look around, really only two or three stalls to choose from where maybe I expected five or six? Call me greedy.
