Small beach but basically ok
Sep 2019 • Couples
The East Haven Town Beach is a cute little place. There is parking, lot, or on street. Nearby restaurants if you get hungry and didn't pack any foods. The sand and water is clean. The people are friendly and basically keep to themselves. No loud music or screaming kids. It was quite peaceful.

Open to all but parking is not

This is a fairly small town beach although it gets incredibly crowded on weekends. A permit and local license are required to park in the lots although anyone can park on the streets (so far).

Small, clean beach with very limited parking
Jul 2019 • Family
Nice, clean and small beach. It has a water or splash park and playground areas. There are bathrooms (across the street) and showers within the premises. There are lifeguards available for most of the day. There is also a restaurant right in front called The Sandpiper. The only setback is parking availability. The two parking lots close to the beach are only for East Haven residents. Any other visitors have to find parking on the streets.

Ok, small beach with resident only parking.

One block long beach on Long Island Sound. Has small splash pad across the street with gazebo for shade. Very good seafood restaurant, The Sandpiper, right next door to the splash pad with sit-down area as well as take out with ice cream.

Two large, resident-only, parking areas that require beach sticker plus resident I.D. Only non-resident parking is on street in residential area where parking regulations are enforced. Bathrooms and outdoor showers in season. Patrolled by city park dept. employees and EHPD.

Not a happy place.people are rude especially the town employees..can't have lunch on the beach ..I think it's to get you to go across the street and get lunch from the restaurant there... everyone's on edge it seems

Nice Little Beach, too bad they let out of towners park on street and get in for free
Aug 2017 • Friends
I noticed that they have on street parking . We saw many out of towners parking there to get access to the beach. We decided to park in the lot. In addition to the Town Parking Sticker, we had to show ID verifying that we were town residents. How Bogus is this when anyone can just waltz in. We noticed a lot of trash left at end of day. Perhaps residents, perhaps out of town people that don't respect our beach. Other towns charge outsiders to use their beaches, East Haven should too. If only an attendant was situated at the gate it would discourage Non Residents from clogging up our shoreline and overcrowding our Small Town Beach.

Nice but small

I grew up here. Beach is always clean and well kept. Too bad it's so small. In the summer it gets packed fast. Resturant across the street is pricey but has good food. Neighborhood around the beach has gone down over the years so be careful for car thefts.
