I love visiting Devil's Hopyard. It has some very steep trails, but they lead to amazing views at the summit of a small mountain (big hill). If you're not up for hiking the steep trails, you can take a walk along the stream or just...More

Another great place to visit when you are in the East Haddam area. It provides places to picnic, to hike for the advance hiker and beginner, water to cool off, nice waterfalls, covered and foot bridges.

Although the waterfalls were nice, and the trails not too long, the trails were so poorly marked that they are hazardous. Only go with lots of time, a good sense of direction, and a clear park map - and a compass and bug spray.

We enjoyed walking through some of the trails and viewing the small waterfall and covered bridge. An enjoyable day reuniting with nature.

The location is very nice, however I was extremely disappointed by the fact that the park seems to attract people looking for a place to camp and party. Trash was strewn all over the campground, the composting toilets stunk so bad you could smell them...More

Took three rounds to find gate of the park to get in. There is a nice hiking trail, a small water fall. Nothing much for kids.

Trails are not marked well. Beautiful setting and waterfall. Would like to see trails marked better and map more usable.

Generally, it is not fully frozen. However, low water levels and temperature can certainly freeze it solid!
