Between the beautiful views, the birds, and watching Gillette’s Castle on your approach, the $5.00 to cross the river is worth every dime. Add in the casualness and feel of the ferry, you have a perfect start/end to your day!

Ok.... So it's 'just' a ferry.... But oh what a ride and view. We try to ride this ferry three seasons a year....it's closed for the winter. We've car ferried. Walked on over and back. Just the sheer joy ...the river... Gillette's castle. Did I...More

Although it takes approximately 3 minutes for the crossing, on a clear day it is really worthwhile doing the crossing. It has become more expensive over the years, but good to take out of towners across to Gillette Castle.

One of the oldest continually operated ferries around. We always take out of town friends across the ferry and up to Gillette's castle.

Very fun way to cross the river. Beautiful view of castle from this vantage point. Can see other river homes and traffic.

Living nearby, I often take advantage of this "alternate route" across the river! Be aware, thoug, that shortened hours may impact your trip!

Very short trip but always a pleasure. The River is beautiful all season (the ferry doesn't run in the winter months) and it's the nicest and easiest way to get to Gillette Castle.

This little ferry ride across the Connecticut River only lasts a few minutes, but it is fun and the scenery is always beautiful. It's a great little boat trip.

For $6 per car we had a great attraction of crossing the river and watching on Gillette Castle from the river. They open until 5 pm on weekends and 6 pm on weekdays. The ride is about 10 minx.
