About
A one-of-a-kind, Swiss-themed miniature golf course in northwest Connecticut, 30 minutes west of Hartford. There's something for everyone at Matterhorn: art to see, bells to ring, fun facts to glean... and all on a colorful, Par 45 course. Our Par 3, 18th hole is a 71' long Alpine Meadow complete with wildflowers (watch out for the groundhogs!). Learn about cheese, chocolate and even the Hadron Collider as you putt your way through 18 holes of adventure in Switzerland. Distant yodeling in the background fades in and out as you cover the half-acre course. Come meet our family of goats - each of which was painted by a local school or artist! (They're fiberglass but still lots of fun...). Family designed, owned and operated since 2015.

I brought my daughter and son to golf today on their last day of school with some friends and my 6 year old daughter can be very shy. In order to get the Ice cream special with the round of golf you have to say “Todel Yodel”. I asked her to say it and she backed up behind me and said she was too shy. Both of the women behind the counter one of which appeared to be the owner kept saying she needed to say it. My daughter started to get more upset and eventually started to cry. Even then the best they would do is say that all of us could say it with her. By this time with all of the unwanted attention my daughter was sobbing. I asked for and was refunded my “course fee” and her charge and we sat out while my som and his friends played, but I will never come back to this place and it’s pretty sad to see the power trip these two got at the expense of my daughter.

If you like windmills and the clown's mouth go elsewhere. This is a thoughtfully themed mini golf course. The theme is Switzerland and the Matterhorn in particular. It was designed and built by the owner, who is always on premises. Each hole is unique and challenging. There are interesting tidbits of information posted throughout the course. It is suitable for all ages, but I challenge you to shoot par. There are a number of surprises. They are open 10 to 10 & days a week. If you go on a hot day, half way through the course there is a mister to cool you off. When you finish there are refreshments available in the "clubhouse". Let's support this local business. A lot of work went into putting this together and it is truly ONE OF A KIND.

I really enjoyed the unique mini golf course at Matterhorn. Not only is it one of a kind but fun and informative with lots of fun & interesting facts. The grounds, while still in progress, are full of great flower beds and green space which I love! The music is entertaining as well. I can't wait to go back.

Save yourself some money by going somewhere else. The place is overpriced, $10 for a child over 5 and $6 to watch someone play. The layout is minimal at best for what should cost $6 and your host could run an army platoon. If you go it will be your last visit. They will rely on 1 visit and thats it before closing.

Just to clarify our pricing structure - Mini Golf is $9.77 per player, $4 for age 6 and under and $4 for "Scorekeepers" (non-playing customers). Since our insurance company charges us liability insurance for every person who enters the course (Welcome to the USA, right?), we pass that expense along to our customers.

Great mini-golf course. A rare opportunity to play a course in pristine shape. everything works the way it should. The a lot of unique and interesting holes - the course is well designed. The fun facts about Switzerland are fun too. Only downside is that its a bit on the pricey side for mini-golf, but its only a few extra bucks.

No detail was ignored. Just a wonderful experience. Worth every penny!

I can't wait to go back.

The owner and her assistant are extremely friendly, and the ice cream is refreshing and creamy.

Beautiful course with extremely clever and creative design! The theme is wonderful, the owner is great and staff was very friendly! This is the first course we have been on in ages where each hole had unique, theme based challenges. We will definitely be back!

This is a challenging mini golf course; the holes themselves are made of hard plastic, so the ball will bounce back out if you hit it in hard enough, be careful! The entire course is Swiss-themed and each hole is themed after something Switzerland is famous for (skiing, chocolate, cheese, watches, banking, etc.) There are facts about Switzerland all over the place, as well as statues of goats painted by various local schools or artists. I got a special kick out of hole #6, which pays homage to the Large Hadron Collider, with a goat painted to look like Wonder Woman standing right next to it. I'm guessing the owners are fans of The Big Bang Theory...:)))

Heard Great things about the town of New Hartford an have met great people here so decided why not put some money back into it an go enjoy a family night. Upon my arrival at Matterhorn Mini Golf I was instantly ambushed for expensive over the top prices an felt over charged soon as I walked in. The woman running it had such a foul stance about my handicap grandmother being wheeled around with us as the kids played. Its wonderful to have attractions as such but when these types of people run them it ruins it. Do not think being fair an humane is in the vocabulary at Matterhorn Mini Golf. An the cheese stunk.

Mike, Thanks for coming down the road to Canton to try Matterhorn Mini Golf. Thank you also for bringing up the subject of wheelchairs! The majority of our course is ADA accessible - we've had wheelchairs, walkers and even an electric scooter manage to navigate the course, so I really can't imagine why there would have been an issue with your grandmother. Most courses in CT can't accommodate them, so thanks for coming to visit ours. And as for our prices, I'm sorry you felt ambushed at the front desk. All of our prices, including that of the Scorekeeper fee for non-players, are published on line. (And I must admit you're right about the swiss cheeses - they have over 400 varieties and some of them are, indeed, quite stinky! I wish we had them at the course for people to sample.) Sorry we weren't a good fit for your family. Autumn, Owner

Proprietor and staff were all friendly and accommodating, premises were clean and new looking, golf course was best mini course I've played in terms of upkeep, decor and an interesting course to put through. They have a nice Swedish countryside theme that is presented even before you walk in the building, and it is carried out throughout the structure where you pay/obtain balls and putters, and to the course outside. I also recommend the Swedish Swirl Ice Cream. We all had chocolate and really enjoyed it. We are going back and bringing friends. A+ experience.
