A drive thru time!

A wonderful scenic drive along the water front, lots of small beach heads and views of the Thimble Islands!

But not a major attraction. Beautiful in the fall, and the ocean is lovely. Medlyn's Dairy is a great local landmark.

This is a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of route 1. The sights are nice. There are some tight curves with bicyclists ,so drive with caution.

Rte 146 is a great road for leaf-peeping and for seeing the wonderful countryside of old New England. Make sure to stop at Stony Creek.

Ride along 146 from Branford to Guilford and enjoy the smell of the sound, the birds and the farmlands along the drive. Stop at Medlyn's in Branford for fresh eggs - it's self serve. There are some friendly kitties that may greet you.

I stopped my family down at Branford Point, Harbor Street, Branford, CT (which is also gorgeous) and then saw this route on both Tripadvisor and Googlemaps. It is so worth it! Although some parts only go by suburban homes and foresty glens, the rest of the drive is right along beautiful coastal views and helps you to catch glimpses of... More

very scenic with lots of water views and curves to enjoy. There are a couple of farms, and some cute little towns off the beaten path. In one area old established restaurants on shoreline and brewery.

Cute homes along the way, sweet foodies. Don't miss Buds' Clam Deli............spicy crab.......eat with a fork with crackers, on the road! Great fish there to take home. And of course you drive along the Long Island Sound.
