Watched a guide (male with almost waist long hair, very distinguishable) giving his introduction to the trail riders. He was violently whipping completely docile horse in every direction, extremely heavy had, wrenching on the horses mouth. It was awful to watch. (Another person mentioned this same man's behavior in regards to a situation with being aggressive in his speaking to other adults while in another area.) I have never been to an outfit where the guides treated their horses this harsh- especially for a trail ride introduction. Difficult to watch, and will recommend business elsewhere with that behavior. Hope staff will address this issue. You, staff, know your employees an whether you find this comment to be in agreement with what you see. I hope others will speak up if they see this.

Beware of the 20% gratuity that they add without them telling you they are adding it. Our guides horse kept going spooked and would not move forward half the time which made the trail ride very slow and the other horses just sat there. Very disappointed in our 2 hour ride.

We have visited 4 Eagle a few times before as we love going out there! This visit was a little different. We went to the New Years’ Eve dinner. It was not in the same building as last year and while I much prefer the log cabin dinners, this was a pleasant surprise. First- the food- was a foodie’s dream. I am from Chicago and consider myself a snob. WOW. The management mentioned that people seemed to prefer the event in the log building. I get it… but the staff, the band, and the food were fantastic. If I were to have a formal event- this would be the place to do it. In the event building. Next year they will have NYE in the log building and I will go. Come, be hungry, take a sleigh ride, and relax. They got this.

This was my FIRST and LAST time at 4 Eagle Ranch. When I called to make reservations for the Wagon Ride Dinner I was told to arrive after 7, dinner at 7:30 followed by your wagon ride. We arrived a little before 7, could not find any employee to direct us, just wondered around until we made our way inside the Grill….found someone at the bar. We were directed to the counter where someone seated us in the dining room. We sat there about 15 minutes before someone came by and said the buffet was ready - -did not show us where to go-- we found our food and headed back to our table. We were expecting to hear Country Western music (this was a western ranch) but we got one guy with a guitar singing a repertoire of songs from light rock to golden oldie’s. We never heard any country western. Someone came to our table around 8pm and took us outside for our 15-minute round trip wagon ride down a dirt round alongside the property. We returned and again were given no information – we basically figured it out that we were to entertain ourselves! We were expecting this to be a 2-hour long event – The buffet dinner food was good, but not worth the cost. No way was this worth $80 per person!! We have visited the Sleigh and Chuck Wagon Dinner rides at Two Below Zero in Breckenridge - they actually had a show during dinner and the rides went somewhere!! I would not recommend paying for the Wagon Ride Dinner – you can just show up and wonder around if that’s your thing. Below is the advertised information from the 4 Eagle Ranch website regarding the Wagon Ride Dinner. I have made my comments next to each item. 4 EAGLE RANCH WAGON RIDE DINNER Includes musical entertainment, horse-drawn wagon rides, a delicious buffet, and a cash bar is available for alcoholic beverages and sodas. Other activities include, horseshoe pits, corn hole, steer head roping, and a volleyball net are available. Schedule Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays only 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm - (This is NOT a 2-hour event, you can arrive anytime after 7pm - they sit you for your buffet dinner and come get you for your wagon ride) Activities and Entertainment Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides (This is a 15 minute round trip ride down a dirt road along the side of the property) Live Musical Entertainment (This is one guy singing with a guitar in the dining room) Corn hole (The Corn hole boards looked about 50 years old, all worn out and broken, totally un-useable!) Horseshoes (Never saw the horse shoe pits) Pricing $80 Adults 13 and Over (This is TOTALLY OVER-PRICED!! A buffet dinner and 15-minute wagon ride)

There were 4 in a group, including a 5-year-old. We tried the ATV/Razor ride into the wilderness area. It was exciting as 3 of the 4 in our group had never done this before. And, the guide did try to make if fun. The scenery was beautiful. However, there is something about going into a wilderness area and not seeing any wildlife (scared off by all the noise) that just doesn't appeal to me.
