Billy Doran's passion for paleontology is contagious. We attended his free Fossil Posse presentation in Beaver Creek the first day of our vacation and we were thrilled to hear about the day camps he offers in Wolcott. Our 8 year old son attended the Fossil Posse camp today and at pick-up he was smiling ear to ear trying to recap every highlight at warp speed. As a family we have attended many museums and fossil exhibits, but honestly we've never encountered anything like Billy Doran's Fossil Posse. The way he conveys his knowledge, field experience, and excitement to kids and adults alike is powerfully unique. He is professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly genuine & personable. We cannot recommend his programs enough! This is more
than a museum or history presentation-- Billy Doran brings to life the fields of paleontology and geology forever changing the way we will look at the mighty multi layered/colored mountains of the valley. Also, Fossil Posse is more than a day camp, it's an opportunity for children's curiosities about dinos to be brought to life grounded in science and ignited with the passion of an incredible teacher. We can't wait to see what Billy Doran cultivates in the years to come, he's got a loyal Fossil Posse in our family.

Our grandson comes out each year and he always wants to spend a day with Billy ay Fossil Posse. He comes back with a million stories about the fossils they saw and new information about the dinasaur that used to live here in Colorado. Highly recommend it.

My daughter won't stop talking about fossil camp and her adventures with Billy. She comes home and teaches me all about the fossils she brings from camp, and can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

What an incredible time we had with Billy (and his lovely wife Lily)! My boyfriend and I went there with our kids (ages 8, 15, and 17) and everyone had an amazing time. Billy was so engaging and really got the kids excited to learn more about these amazing creatures that roamed the earth so long ago. Aside from the stage lesson about dinosaurs, my son really enjoyed the dig pit and finding fossils. As he found fossils, Billy talked about what they were and how long ago they were around. You won't find a better experience the family.

Our son had an unforgettable experience at the day camp. He got to learn all about dinosaurs from the incredibly knowledgeable and passionate owner, Billy, and even got to dig for fossils (and keep a few of his favorites)! He wanted to go back a second time during our vacation. Will definitely be back next time!

We did a combined tour with Fossil Posse and Timberline rafting tours and had a great time. Billy was really knowledgeable about fossil finds in the area. Our 5 year old had a great time "digging" for her own fossils and for an adult, the information given during the tour was fascinating.

If you have a little one interested in dinosaurs, do this.
Billy gives a great talk on dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures that lived in the Vail area - it was nice to have that local relevance.
Then you take a nice rafting trip down a calm (but still bumpy enough to be fun for the family) class 2 section of the river.
Plus there is a small hike to see actual apatosaurus footprints in the mountain.
You won't regret this if you have young dino lovers.
