The Museum of Friends is the first Counter Culture Museum in the United States. It is comprised of art given to each of the co-founders as gifts from fellow-artists. The first floor is accessible on Main Street and 6th and features changing exhibitions, a museum gift shop full of locally made goods "Made in Walsenburg" and workshop areas. The 2nd floor contains over 600 works of art created by contemporary artists with a few exceptions. Also on the 2nd floor is the Hawaiian Collection, Artist in Residency quarters, offices, and a resource library. The featured show on the ground level is "El Dia de los Muertos" a group exhibition that honors our ancestors. It will remain on view until December 30th. Currently, the museum is opened from noon until 4 pm, or "winter hours." . School groups are welcome as are group tours.
