We booked a reservation for the baby goat happy hour before arriving in Vail. We had received an email with info on their shuttle but we decided to enjoy the walk to the stable as we had just finished our planned hike. The walk was beautiful but pretty steep and with no shade. Once we arrived we checked in and bought a couple waters and a bucket of alfalfa pellets to feed the goats. Unfortunately it was later in the afternoon and I think the goats had been eating all day so they were not really interested in getting the treats. The goats were really friendly and happy to let us pet them, but it was not the playful goats we are used to seeing online. I do think it is because it was late in the day and they were just worn out. The owner had chatted with us a for awhile and was really friendly and seems to care about her clients. Our only bummer was they did not have a driver for their shuttle so we ended up having to walk all the way back to town. Overall it was a nice time, but I recommend going early in the day to experience the goats with more energy.

I recently brought a small corporate group to Vail Stables, and they had the time of their lives! The staff was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate my guests. The horseback ride was breathtaking, with the aspen leaves at their peak, shimmering in golden hues. The photos from the aspen glade were simply stunning—an unforgettable experience for everyone!

"Crappiest" yoga I've experienced...literally crap everywhere. Who would have thought that Goat Yoga would include poop. But here we are. Seriously could not stop laughing the whole time, most of my team loved it, but I got such a kick out of those that were grossed out. 1,000% worth it and just needed a quick shower afterwards. The group couldn't stop talking about it afterwards which is a great sign.

Breathtaking (in a good way not a high alrirude way!) and memorable experience. Riding up the mountain to that golden aspen glenn was incredible. Once in it, it was like being in a golden bubble of light. Our trail guide Pedro attentive and took pictures of all of us. The horses so good-minded and enjoyable to ride. Highly, highly recommend. A bucket list item for me I did t know about until I experienced it.

We had four kids and five adults and had a great time. Our guides were Ozzy and Benny and they were fantastic. Felt very safe with the kids riding their own horse. We just did the one hour tour and the views were great. The rest of our groups stayed and played with the goats at the stables.

It was a great experience. We did horse riding before but this one was my favorite so far as it includes lots of beautiful Mountain View’s. I definitely recommend. My son 9 years old did it easily and it was his best part of the vacation.

I was on a solo vacation to Breckenridge, CO. I decided to take the 1.5-hour horseback ride with Vail Stables. I've ridden at other stables but what made Vail Stables stand out was the scenic views of the mountains, our leader who took us on a good pace stopping for the horses and taking our pictures. I loved the climbs (uphill as well as downhill), succulent berries that we ate off the trees and the entire experience. When I am back in Breckenridge, I will only go to Vail Stables to ride!

Kim, Cade, Pedro, Kris and other Vail Stables staff went out of their way to make sure my daughter had a spectacular horseback riding experience. We really felt like part of the family following the half day ride and the goat happy hour featurring live music and friendly four legged animals. The horses and goats are well cared for. We srongly recommend Vail Stables for families, especially families of teens.

I am an experienced rider who had spent years riding at various types of ranches in Colorado. I have been to several dudes ranches (you ride hours for days) and day riding ranches like this one. I have to say it’s a pretty unique place. I had a large group with me this time and when our youngest one (5) freaked out and decided not to ride, I was really relieved there was a playground for him onsite. Not to mention the baby goats that caught all the attentions. Our 8 year old was also having a moment and didn’t want to get on the horse. I am grateful that our wrangler (didn’t get her name but she is also a teacher) showed him so much kindness and patient. He finally got on and had the best time ever!! I met the owner too. She is very punctual. When two bike dudes showed up with hunting bows and arrows and spooked one of the horses, she came out and disciplined them with firmness. I think that’s absolutely needed. You can tell she puts safety ahead of everything else. The 1 hour trail ride had gorgeous views. Parts of the trails were quite steep even for me. The horses handled great! They know what they are doing. After the ride, the kids had to go pet the goats and the parents of course had to get some mommy daddy drinks. it was just really awesome that this stable has such a unique setting to provide a much needed relaxation. I had a great time watching my daughter getting chewed up by a baby goat (not his fault, he just needed some more food) while sipping a can of cold beer. I know it costs $20 more for the ride but I will be gladly paying that given the fantastic scenery and wine &goat entertainment afterwards. The entire family of 8 had such a great time. Thank you!!

Amazing beautiful scenery! The guides were very good and made my 7 year old feel very secure going up and down the mountain. My only complaint was we were told to be there at 12:15. We did not start the riding until 1:30. It was a very long hot hour until we got to ride. They told me the group before us was late and that is why. I just wish they would have called our group to move the time to 1:00 then so our time was not wasted. Poor planning on their part. One thing to think about as well is if you struggle with a fear of heights this would be very stressful for you. I don't think I realized it would be a 90 minute trek up and down a mountain overlooking drop offs at times. Overall though, I am very happy we went. My daughter loved every second of the ride.

My friend and I wanted a relaxing horseback ride. Instead,
We got a very stressful long, boring ride, with too too long and too many stops. We had to ride 3 people back behind a child. First and foremost, children and their parents should NOT ride with adults! He couldn't control his horse, which then stopped us numerous times! And because of the frequent stops, we had dust clouds in our face, breathing dust constantly! NOT FUN!!!!!!!!
When we asked for a discount, she blatantly and rudely said "that's not gonna happen! " She needs a course in customer service, and her abrasive attitude needs a major adjustment!!!! I would not recommend Vail Stables to anyone!!!

This sounds like a flight on an airline with too many crying kids and a horrible flight attendant who's waiting for retirement! That's why people drink before flying. Unfortunately, because our riders are the pilots, we can't allow that. That is why we offer a more expensive upgrade to an Adult-Only Ride. Have you ever tried flying private? We have that option too!!! It's so wonderful. Pay a premium and you get a different experience. Luckily all, (most) of our pilots (guests) in 23 summers have made it to their destination in excellent, albiet sometimes in a dirty, condition as the trails are dusty if it hasn't rained in a couple of weeks. Thank you for your review. People find these so helpful to prepare for an experience filled with uncertainty and variables.

My husband and I booked the 2 hour Dark Timber Trail, it was AMAZING and Sara our guide was THE BEST! My husband and I had two very spirited horses named Chester and Bart which only made our ride that much more entertaining! I did read reviews before I booked it and the negative ones could not be more far off from the experience we had! I highly recommend Vail Stables and the 2 hour Dark Timber trail, some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen! We stayed after for Wine with goats, which was super fun. The goats are so cute and a lot of fun! It was worth every penny and we will definitely do it again the next time we are in Vail.. Whatever you do DO NOT listen to the people who left bad reviews they are probably just complainers. Thank you Vail Stables and Sara for a wonderful experience.

Great afternoon spent with the grandkids. The 3 year old got a pony ride that we took the lead and walked her. She loved it. Then my 5 year old grandson and 7 year old granddaughter and my husband and I went on an hour horseback ride. The 5 year old 's horse was tethered to the guide's horse but the 7 year old rode her own horse and was able to pull his head up many times when he bent down to eat. The horses were very well trained and followed each other up and down the mountain. The views were beautiful and the 2 guides were very attentive. A great time was had by all. Afterwards we all went to play and feed the goats which was also a lot of fun.

We signed up for the Bear Hallow Trail tour. My wife and I had our boys with us (9 and 6). We showed up for the 9AM ride and realized we had signed up for an 11AM ride by accident. The staff said they were able to take us out instead of having us leave and come back. The guides and staff were great with getting the boys comfortable and giving them great instructions. They both had so much fun and said it was their favorite part of our vacation. It was a wonderful experience. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

The views were incredible. The forest, the trees...so magical. Perfect amount of time (2 hrs). Only complaint was the lack of support during the ride. We had two guides for a group of 8. One in back and one in front. We were at the back and could not hear what the front guide was saying and the back guide was in the back about 25% of the ride. The rest he was at the front talking with the other guide. I was inexperienced and had some stress managing my horse and would have liked some guidance and support.

Horrible experience. Would never come here again. The goat yoga instructor didn’t show up and the owner showed us no empathy. The owner was disrespectful and laughed at us. Customer service was the worst I have ever seen. We asked if we could just see or pet the goats, and she laughed at us and said no. We asked if we could do horse back riding instead, with any sort of discount. But she said this wasn’t her fault and she couldn’t control her employees. She said she couldn’t give us any discount ofter driving 20 minutes there and back and having to pay both ways. We would have been totally ok with going home with a refund if she was not rude and disrespectful. Would never go here or recommend it to anyone.

Went to Goat Yoga (GOGA) during our stay in Vail. The concierge recommended it as the guys in our party were fishing so we wanted something for the girls to do. When we called, they were not offering any classes that day due to low interest. However, I asked if maybe they would consider opening a class for the two of us and they agreed to do it! My daughter in law and I were very excited and appreciate their accommodation. It is a great experience! The yoga teacher is excellent and you actually do get a yoga workout even though goats are walking all around you in the pen and laying on your mat! They allow time at the end of the class to take photos and the yoga instructor suggests different photos including placing the goats on the top of our backs! It is so fun. Recommend for anyone who loves animals and yoga!
