Beautiful ride in the fall, with the Aspen trees changing! The horses followed behind each other, very calmly. The guides were easy going and friendly. Would highly recommend!

We scheduled an afternoon ride the day we arrived in Colorado. The trail was easy, the weather perfect and the guide was very helpful. As you might expect, these were "auto-drive" horses - they knew the drill - but we still enjoyed the ride and did not feel the need to unleash our inner Kentucky Derby. I recommend Vail Stables and would return again.

My wife and I took our kids (15, 13, 10) on the 90m Bear Hollow trail. The horses are well-trained and docile. None of us had previously ridden more than once before. Never felt unsafe. Nice scenery, weaving up & down a mountainside trail. Great, friendly staff. Note, the horses were walking the entire time, so don't expect an adrenaline rush, at least not on the Bear Hollow tour. Cool experience.

We really enjoyed the one hour ride up the mountain. Our guide, Luke, did a great job leading the way and answering all our questions. The trail is narrow and the view is amazing. This is not for people afraid of heights. The horses were well trained and responded well to direction from the riders. I would like to return and take the longer trail so I could spend more time riding and enjoying the scenery all around.

We visited Vail Stables this summer and we were impressed. The horseback riding was great! But the real fun came afterwards when we had a few beers and the kids fed the animals, including the baby goats. Great day spent with the family and the owners could not have been nicer.
