What a place to see a show...I sat in several lawn seats and all had great views and acoustics. Parking lot experience was smooth, food looked very good (but I did not wind up trying anything) and the staff/security folks were all friendly and helpful.

We went to see some local bands, as well as some from the West Coast. Very earthy and eclectic. The bands were great and the audience looked like all of the hippies that were at Woodstock, some obviously aged by 50 years, while others in a timeless bubble. The child of the children of the Love Children. Long, flower-print dresses, worn, baggie jeans, big, floppy hats, long hair and a palpable mellowness about them. This venue hosts many different events. We happened to pick a really good one. Generally speaking, the acoustics were great, the seats pretty comfortable, plenty of concession stands, and every seat, including the ones in the grass, had a great view.

I have attended the Vail Dance Festival for years and it has been wonderful every time. Even the lawn seats give you a wonderful of the choreography and are not too overpriced. While the food at the Amphitheater is a bit overpriced it is not more than your average stadium fare. Regardless it's a wonderful location

If you sit on the lawn, I recommend you bring a blanket and rain jacket as seats make it hard for others to see, and it may rain.

Picnic on the lawn with wine and cheese or sit closer to the stage while listening to the magnificent music of the various summer guest symphonies. Dallas, Philadelphia and NewYork symphonies participants in the summer program offered by Bravo. Family and friends will enjoy this outdoor venue. The beautiful mountains, outstanding music makes for a fabulous experience. Look forward to returning next summer!

Amazing venue, good food / drinks available at the concessions including beers and wines. Would for sure recommend seeing a show here. This is on the far east side of Vail, but easy ride on the town bus over to it, or certainly walkable.

We came for the Opera Tosca which was totally delightful. No matter what you see/hear it is a wonderful auditorium - open air so that you'll need layers. Rain or shine, so be prepared. You can sit on the lawn or buy more expensive seats in the auditorium. It seemed that the sound was very good no matter where you sat. It rained, stormed, lightening, but the Vail folks did not leave in the theater or on the lawn. Before the show we ate on the lawn (most did not bring picnics). The moon was full and you could see it behind the stage - magical!

While the amphitheater is utilized for shows, concerts and the like, it is a must-see when in Vail. Right beside the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, the Gerald R Ford amphitheater is beautiful. It is a fabulous venue for just about any show. Always prepare for sunshine, rain and cooler night temps! If sitting on the lawn bring a blanket or stadium seat. If attending a performance that you absolutely love buy seats! You will talk about this place for a long time to come.

Either get a lawn ticket or reserved seat under the pavilion cover, it's always fun and lively. great concessions, good wine and cocktails, lots of good people-watching, and the performances are first class. A fantastic way to spend a sublime summer eve in the Vail Valley..

This is an exquisite amphitheater right on Vail mountain. I didn't realize before, this is the theater you see from the interstate. It's not very big. You can bring little camp chairs and/or blankets to enjoy whatever performance you've selected. There are concessions of course but be sure to get situated before the performance starts because sometimes they don't let you back to your seat until there's a break.

The iInternational Dance Festival and the Bravo Music Festival at this venue are what makes summer in Vail so special. We love the lawn seats for Bravo, but recommend up close reserved seating for the dance performances. Be warned however that it can get chilly or stormy in the evening, so dress in layers and bring an umbrella for walking back to your car.
