Dived with this company several times. Really felt safe and looked after, despite being a solo woman. Saw lots of wildlife underwater. Did underwater camera course, quality of photos improved beyond belief. Visibility not always perfect but not a problem to them as they always chose best sites for conditions.
Lunch on board is really good and freshly cooked, catering for all tastes.

It was such a great experience to learn to dive. My 12 year Old daughter and I had a fantastic diver instructor Gordan With whom we felt very safe and cared for.
All the staff was very Nice, accomodating and we felt very welcome and part of the team.. I can only highly recommend the Mermaid dive center in Pattaya.

Mermaids Dive Centre is made up of an excellent team that takes time and consideration over your every need. Equipment is well maintained, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and above all, you feel safe under their instruction.
Dive sites are many and varied, so be sure to visit more than once! On the boat, seating is limited but comfortable and lunch is always a highlight!
If you're looking to learn, already well experienced or even just after a day snorkelling in the sea, Mermaids comes highly recommended.

It’s always hard to write a negative review but unfortunately the experience of scuba diving in Pattaya was not fun.
Pattaya is about the closed place to diving from Bangkok so we thought we’d give it a go and get a few more dives under our belts for the year.
I will preface this review that correspondence with the dive shop was helpful and the dive guide we had assigned to us was lovely.
We’d planned 6 dives in 2 days, nothing unusual for us as we often do 15-20 dives at a time at depths of up to 40m.
We were warmly welcomed into the shop, albeit a little chaotic and disorganised.
The Diving: it was a 45 min 90+ kph journey on the back of a Ute to the Marina where all the boats are moored. It was another 30 mins to the dives sites. The boat was a typical dive boat from the region.
As a regular diver I would not recommend diving these sites, for the following reasons. Every dive felt like a rinse repeat process, dive times were all around the 30 min mark so not good value for money. The wreck dive was super busy with low visibility, max depth was 26 m using enriched air. The dive time was 30 minutes, with an underwhelming dive profile. I would not do this dive again.
The two reef dives were again very underwhelming. The first was At a max depth of 6 m for 40 mins, and it was sand bottom only no reef. The second dive was at a max depth of 16 m for 36 mins. Visibility was low, it was extremely busy and the reef was sparse with not an awful of sea life. We would surface with at least 100 bar in our cyclinders.
Based on our experience as a certified diver of any level I would not recommend Pattaya for diving. For any one wanting to dive for the first time just look a little further afield as there is plenty of fantastic diving in the region.
The equipment: all equipment was pretty tatty, albeit safe. As a diver this is the time to double check all equipment you are hiring before you leave. Our torch batterys lasted 5 minutes so we useless for the wreck dive, (A waste of money) the wetsuits were perishing with holes a plenty. Cyclinder bar pressure was frequently under 200 I suspect part reason for the extremely short dive times. Check o rings and BCD’s as well.
As a result of our experience we cancelled our follow day of diving and headed back to Bangkok. They say every dive is a good dive, I say every dive is always a good learning experience and that is what this was.

Hello Dan
Thank you for your kind words regarding our staff member that was guiding you for the day.
We are sometimes hindered by the weather and currents on which dive sites we can use but the average visibility here is 5 to 10 meters . For sure Pattaya is not the Red Sea :-).
Please send me an email and I will reimburse you for any payment made for the torch hire.
Regards

Amazing company of people. I chose this company because they didn’t want a deposit like all the rest. I walked into the shop the day before I wanted to dive they greeted me & answered all my questions got me set up to dive on the next day. The day of diving was amazing got picked up from hotel brought to the dive shop to get equipment brought to the boat and left on our adventure. All trips come with lunch which was amazing and beautiful tasting food. I did two days of diving with them. This company has it for any type of experience level from snorkeling, fun diving and teaches all the classes. I had Gordon as my dive buddy & he was amazing. Definitely recommend this great group of people. Thank you fro a great time. Moosee & Helena from Florida

The owner is antipathic and unfriendly.
We bought few things there until the day of one was broken I bring it back to shop when I notice but the guy was very rude yeling at me.
This is not the place where you will find friendly poeple trying to build a nice community. They are only here for the money and live on the flow of tourists.

Although the shop is well put together, and the people behind the counter are nice, the good vibes end there. They quickly toss some gear at you, and herd you towards the boat. I had not been diving in several years, and asked for a refresher. The sum total was to check my gear, and jump in. NO go over signals or what we would be seeing once under. There was no real guide for my dive, though her was listed as one. He just kind of swam off on his own and once even got stick under some debris. He almost never checked my air, or turned around to see if I was even there.
the next day I went to another shop and had a much better experience, which I also rated.

I´m a PADI Instructor and I plan to dive with a deepdiver.
Most of positive comment comes from people who just got the Open Water or they dont have much experience.
We have a really poor dive and staff (thai girl) really unpleasent, no fun no joke, she would just finish his work and get rid of turist...
supposed to be a full day dive on the boot they make 2 dive on the same spot with nothing...finished the first dive at 12, eating (how many days ago did you cook the rice) and second dive at 13.
1 hours or more of boat navigation to be in a spot perfect for them because the suppose to finish their OWD course.
please guys, change work

I do not recommend this place at all. Awful experience. The equipment was not only old but in very bad conditions, seriously it was disgusting.
In relation to the staff, they were all very unfriendly. They did not care and did not wanted to created a good atmosphere.
Do not go to this place, I am sure you will find other options.

I had the most amazing day with Mermaids. It was my first experience of diving and nerves got the better of me at one point. The instructors have a very calming and patient approach. I'm now hooked and will definitely be returning for my open water with them. Oh and also, the lunch was superb.
Highly recommend.

Hello Jamie,
if you never dived before, it will cost 4,000 baht for all equipment, training in the ocean, hot lunch and instructor services. each dive is 45 min or so. just send an e-mail through web site and they will send you all details and what's required.
Written September 28, 2016
I have a PADI certificate but haven't dived in 20 years. Do you have any refresher courses before I head out on the boat and how much is the cost?
Written April 1, 2015
Hello, if you have PADI certificate, but didn't dive for so long, you will require a refresher. It could be done in a pool if you feel really rusty about your diving skills or in the ocean during our regular dive trip.
We will provide PADI Instructor to make sure you still remember how to use dive gear and he will dive with you and answer any questions you may have.
This will cost 4,000 baht and includes instructor services, all dive equipment, 2 dives under supervision, lunch and hotel pickup. if you let me know where you stay and a date, i will arrange hotel pickup from 8am.
You will be back in hotel by 5pm. You will need to show proof of certification or we could do online check through PADI web site.
