We really enjoyed Ophir Pass. We came to Telluride/Ouray area just to wheel our Jeep. We have a condo in Mountain Village, so we needed a way to get to the Ouray area quicker. It takes about 45 mins to an hour to Ouray via...More

Since Black Bear Pass is one way into Telluride we did Ophir Pass out towards Ouray. It was a fun ride. The little town of Ophir is mountain quaint. The views are ok, but not as great as either Black Bear or Imogene.

I really wanted to travel from Telluride to Ice Lake and the surrounding lakes without going all the way around through Ouray and Silverton. I am very afraid of roads that have steep drop offs (Trail Ridge Road for one!). However, my desire to do...More

We went West, towards Tellluride on this trail. It had great views of all three Red Mountains on the way up. The summit of the pass was nice. On the West side of the pass, there are some areas of loose rock, just take it...More

Stunning views, exciting roads, not scary at all (I am afraid of heights). This is an easy 4x4 pass. Loved every minute!

This was an incredible off road adventure that offered knock-out scenery. One of our favorite off-road trails in the San Juan mountains.

Short drive from town. The trail is a road that can be accessed .by 4 wheel drive, but we hiked about 7 miles. Had several scenic overlooks, and in places can see remainders of old mining equipment. Saw many birds, wildflowers, and the aspen trees...More

Absolutely loved this jeep trail. We drove it with our Jeep Wrangler from Silverton to Telluride and back. The scenery is stunning and we loved the excitement of driving on a shelf road. Definitely need to keep your eyes on the road. Stop to take...More

Gorgeous country! Great Jeeping trail. We really enjoyed it. There are some technical spots which requires some good driving skills and experience. But overall not too hard at all. Lots of diversity in the scenery and would recommnd this trail.

We did this pass with friends of ours who have experience off roading. Beautiful views and some harrowing twists and turns.

Either way is not too tough. On the Telluride (West) side of the pass, there is a large field of loose rocks that are flat. If you are making a loop back through Imogene Pass, go West to Telluride on this trail. Heading East... More

Don't think so. Some pretty good size trucks went through ahead of us, and a big Lexus SUV.
