Love this Mtn

Friendly mountain culture here. Convenient location. Beautiful views. Lots of restaurants and shops to choose from. Can't go wrong with staying here.

We rode into the Village solely for the gondola ride but while we were there we thought we should look around. We did a quick tour of the very few shops and found them all to be uninviting, expensive, and unimaginative. The whole place wreaked of $$, even more than Telluride, so we left pretty quickly.

The gondola ride is a great experience. You get a nice view of Telluride and Mountain Village. We went super early at 8 am which was a mistake, because everything was closed in the mountain village except for coffee shops and it was dead. But, we could imagine how much fun it would be on a summer evening. We will... More

Not as crowded as in the winter. We were able to see what was there, but without all the people. Great if you are not planning to ski.

When I reserved my room, I did not realize it was not in Telluride proper (had a Telluride address), but in Mountain Village. Mountain Village is a 2-gondola ride from Telluride proper (about 15 minutes). Mountain Village was okay, but next time I will stay in Telluride itself. More restaurants, more to do, river path for walks.

Something for everyone! We vacationed in the summer and LOVED Mountain Village. Rock climbing, bike riding, live music, and open spaces to enjoy at all times of the day.

As we walked from the gondola, (which is free) we saw children playing on the "beach", others flying high on a trampoline, daytime vendors selling a variety of goods, and number of restaurants to choose from. The Village has several plazas. In the evening we enjoyed a free Bluegrass concert on Sunset Plaza. The Village is a lovely spot to... More

It's like a mini vail but far less faux. Gondola will drop you down to telluride proper for free and you have immediate access to the slopes./trails. This way you have access to all the Telluride has to offer but have your own escape too.

And a mall. Take the free gondola ride up, but really there are just a few outdoor shops and lots of places to eat, but it is pretty to walk around.

It's nice to ride the Gondola and stop in to Mountain Village, but there is no character to this place. It's like one big condo complex with a few typical stores and restaurants. Stay and eat in the town of Telluride, so many more choices and things to do in the summer.
