We were on a road trip from Denver to the Vista Verde Ranch. About 40 miles into Steamboat we started seeing these signs advertising for F.M Light & Sons, these popped up every mile or so, maybe even more. They seemed to pop up everwhere... Anyway, after a while we felt obliged to go, and thank goodness we did. The... More

After following the sings for 80 miles advertising F.M. Light & Sons, we had to stop in. Awesome selection, wish I wore a cowboy hat. We did end up getting a high quality Pendleton wool shirt at a decent price.

We have been to F.M. Light quite a few times to get Cowboy hats, shirts, gifts and even toys. We took our 2 Grandson's in to pick out their own Cowboy Hats. They had a big selection for children. I found Moccasin slippers and a beautiful T-shirt. My husband has found shirts other times. The kids had fun playing at... More

Before we went to the rodeo we went to the store to check out what they had. Awesome deal on my son's hat. He got one of the straw cowboy hats in the back corner for $6. He hasn't taken it off all week!

Great little western store that smells of money. $350 boots and buckles add to that smell. Wife bought a cheap hat for the rodeo

It is over a 100 years old and we were here for the 100 year celebration! It is the original store and truly has cowboy wear plus up to date boots, hats, western clothing and lots of things for children and adults. Our children and grandchildren love this store and it is a must when they come to visit. My... More

The Lockharts have owned this store for generations, so they will give you the best experience for all your western attire!!. They also have some cute souvenirs to bring back with you, with a western flare. Look for the life-size horse outfront.

Boots, hats, knives and clothing. You don't see much quality stuff like this any more, and the pricing is not "stupid". Considering the high quality of the goods, the pricing is not excessive. Really worth a visit! Just in case you forget, they remind you with many roadside boards driving towards Steamboat Springs from the Denver side.
