About
Old Town Hot Springs is an historic all-natural hot spring and recreational facility in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs. It is family friendly and has been the place for recreation and rejuvenation for visitors and locals alike for over 100 years. The swimming and soaking pools served as a gathering and bathing place for the Ute Indians who first settled in the area. Then in the late 1800s, it was a social spot and a bathing place for the early homesteaders. Old Town Hot Springs sits at an elevation of 6,700 feet and offers eight pools, including two 230-foot waterslides, a 3,000 square foot hot activity pool, an aquatic rock climbing wall, the historic Heart Spring pool, eight lap lanes, and massage. We also have a full fitness center with over 45 classes each week, including aqua fitness classes, yoga, spin, Pilates, BodyPump, Zumba, and more. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit, multi-use complex open seven days a week, year-round.

Nice facility but definitely don’t show up 10 minutes before they close the pools for weather at 6pm (I know, how could you know? You can’t) because they will happily take your $30 fee and tell you “policy” doesn’t let them offer a refund or the ability to use the pass another day. Might I recommend Manager Anthony take some customer service training? Hard for this local to ever want to revisit and wouldn’t recommend during summer when storms can come through anytime and the staff will be at the mercy of “policy” to be wholly unaccommodating.

I enjoy this place but the pool's close at 8:45. Way too early. Please increase the hours to 9:45 like it used to be. The early closing hours are especially frustrating for those that pay top dollar for a day pass.

This place has it all. It's your workout center, rock climbing wall, hot springs, and water slides. Everything but water slides are included in your daily price (check with your hotel to see if they offer a discount). You also get a day pass! So you don't need to do everything all at once. My husband and I made a day of Old Town Hot Springs. In the morning we went to soak in the hot springs. After lunch we climbed on the rock wall (which has a self belay feature so you don't need a buddy). After dinner went went back for water slides and more soaking. While the water slides were fun, I could feel ever connection on my back as I slid down. One slide is dark and the other one has light. Overall, I don't think the water slides are worth the additional $7/person. The climb up is very cold from the warm water and while we were there they shut down the slides early for an incident and didn't have enough staff to deal with it. There were a ton of rowdy adults with their children splashing around which was unfortunate and it was full of people. Both morning and evening the pool felt really full! Worth it overall if you are going to go several times in a day, not sure it's worth it for a short visit.

My son and I visited the Old Town Hot Springs on a July vacation to Steamboat Springs. My son was most excited by the waterslides, but had a great time swimming in the hot springs and climbing the two rock walls. We had to evacuate due to lightning before the waterslides opened (noon) but the staff were friendly and helpful and explained that we could re-enter once the storm has passed. There were lockers available for storage and snacks if needed. I would recommend this for families with children, as my son had a blast and made friends with other children there. If you are an adult looking for a calming, peaceful springs experience then I recommend making the drive out to Strawberry Park Hot Springs, though Old Town did have an adult only section. I visited both Strawberry Park and Old Town Hot Springs and the vibes were quite different, but both excellent!

I would love to give Old Town Hot Springs 5 stars, but the lack of slides was a real downer for my kids (10, 9, 6). Covid19 restrictions in full force in Steamboat, so be aware of that. The hot spring pools were great, but you are limited to 2 hours only. For a family of 5, that is over $100!! The staff was very friendly; however there was a group of “Karens” participating in a water exercise class who were pretty rude to us.

The facility is nice with clean, modern locker rooms and several poolsof varying temperatures for soaking. A small cafe serves food and towels are available to rent. It is always a favorite when we visit Steamboat Springs.

I imagine this place is hopping in the summer, especially when it is fully functional. Being COVID season, the water slide was closed and there were limitations on how many could be in the smaller pools.
That being said, all the pools were being utilized. There is a nice variety of temperatures of pools and a grassy area sit and relax. No poolside chairs were out. Masked lifeguards patrolling regularly.
We did not partake in any other activities while we were there. The locker room areas were clean. Beware..no towels available to rent and a lot of the lockers in the locker rooms are not functional!

I am very disappointed with this facility. After I arrived I found the staff to be unfriendly. The hot spring was cold and the other hot spring was occupied for the whole two hours that I was there. I also found the locker rooms to be very dirty with hair on the floor and no toilet paper. I would advise against this place at all costs. Rating NO stars.

Old Town Hot Springs is super fun. It’s a community pool more or less but with pools water fed from the hot springs under ground. The one unadulterated right from the ground pool feels great for the body and skin-so rejuvenating. I recommend getting a spot over on the grass. You can order food of the snacking variety. The chips and salsa was so delicious. I find hot springs to be amazing and this one didn’t let me down- I’d love to visit again.

We took a day off from skiing to workout and use the hot springs. Masks were required, even while working out. There is a $25 charge and an extra $5 for a towel. There are lockers and showers, no hair dryers. The place was very clean and there were plenty of work out equipment. The outdoor hot spring area was great. Plenty of adult only hot tubs, a large pool area for kids and even a lap pool. parking was free. Right on main street in Steamboat.

Yes, they actually have a chair that one can sit in , that swings you out and into pool. Just inform the desk when you check in. You will get all the help you need.
