We stopped in as we were strolling downtown Steamboat and were treated to the Oil Painters of America Exhibit. It was phenomenal! I am not really that into art, but I found myself absorbed in the art that was being displayed. I also felt very...More

If you can visit Steamboat during the summer of 2018, you must see the OPA exhibit. It is 250 of the best oil paintings done by contemporary American painters. It was phenomenal. We really want to come back and see it again before the exhibit...More

Stopped in to see their recent "Western Artists Exhibit" and was very pleased. It was first Friday and they had music and a good crowd. The represented artists were regional and it truly is an excellent show. With the new addition this facility is moving...More

Impressive museum for such a small town, located in a freshly restored historic building on the main drag. The exhibit when I visited was paintings and a few sculptures by (mostly) Colorado artists on a Western theme. Landscapes, wildlife portraits, cowoys etc. Check the website...More

This non-profit museum specializes in Western art.....sometimes that means Western subjects and sometimes it means Western artists. Basically they change exhibits twice yearly and have always done a good job curating interesting exhibits. There is no entrance fee, but donations are requested. Stop by and...More

Museum is housed in a beautiful old building. We saw the plein air artists, capturing the various national parks. Free admission, with donation jar option. Gift shop next door has some fabulous items.

Nice event held every first friday. Free, friendly folks, lots of talent on these walls. Know folks who go every month! Even kids' works.

If you enjoy artwork by local artists, make sure to go by quickly as the museum is featuring an exhibition of plain air artwork that is painted on scene and in the outdoors by the artists, rather than in their own studios

I've got some photos of the area for sale in the gift shop, but nonetheless, this is a great little art museum, with some really good paintings displayed. Steamboat is fortunate to have this community treasure right in the heart of downtown.
