We went on the 2 hour Snowmobiling tour in the morning. It was a beautiful cold sunny winter day. The trails were smooth enough that our 5 year old grandson could hold on, but exciting enough for me to "hang on tight" as a passenger....More

Went tubing. Get there early as by 11 the wait was very long. One of the tracks was closed and the line was pretty long. But not too pricey and fun was had by all.

A very nice ride along the trails. The horses are well behaved. They were very good with kids. For a winter ride definitely have warm gear and warmers.

Snowmobiling (3 Replies)
My husband and I have been snowmobiling once. We are thinking about taking a snowmobile tour with our 4 1/2 year old grandson at Saddleback Ranch near Steamboat Springs. I would appreciate any thoughts or advice.

We took our boys then 5&7 snowmobiling last March in Steamboat & they had a blast. As long as it isn't too cold and he is properly dressed he should be fine.

Family to thing to do recommendtion Dec 25-29 in Steamboat? (1 Replies)
Other than skiing and going to Saddleback Ranch which we already have planned, can you recommend other thing to do mainly in the evening? Our children are 7yr to 16yr old. Are there any Christmas events/celebrations in the evening that are family-oriented? Thks.

First trip to Steamboat Springs Colorado Feb 15-19,2012 (5 Replies)
I am looking for a recommendation on a snowmobile tour for 5 adults and 1 child (13 years old). None of us have done this before. I have read some and I think 2 hours would be enough--which company??? I also want to snowtube--is Saddleback Ranch the best place to go? I am trying to avoid a large crowd. Any other tips on what to do are welcomed as well as what to pack. We have reservations at The Lodge. Thanks.

The most popular snowmobiling option is Rabbit Ears Pass, they offer a 2 hour tour and provide transportation from your lodging property. You can also go snowmobiling at Saddleback Ranch. Tubing is usually crowded but it can be more crowded during certain times of the year - xmas holiday, president's week, March.
