If you have never been to a rodeo go. It’s fun, it’s the Wild West , and fun for families. We really enjoyed it.

As a Texan, I have been to tons of rodeos so I had mixed emotions/expectations when going to a Colorado rodeo. Boy was I wrong. These people are legit! We went on the opening night of the season and it was amazing. The backdrop of the mountains was so stunning. The bucking bronco riders were some of the best I’ve ever seen. I will have a hard time enjoying an indoor arena rodeo in Texas ever again!

Night at the Rodeo

We went to the rodeo and it was our first time seeing a rodeo. It was amazing! It was very good for kids. The mechanical bull, candy, and moon bounce were a hit with the kids. It was the experience of a lifetime.

Fun family time
Aug 2018 • Family
This wound up being one of our favorite activities during our visit to Aspen. The bronco riding and bull riding was ok. What was absolutely hilarious was the Mutton Busting, Burro race, and the calf chase. We laughed so hard. The setting of the rodeo is beautiful and it is a fun night of relaxing. You can have a drink and eat good barbeque while you are there. If you have kids, be sure and enter them into the competitions. They will have a blast.

This is more fun than you think!

The rodeo is entertaining and wholesome. Fun and unique activities for the kids. Real rodeo - some in the group were surprised by the true threat of injury. Beautiful setting. The food was tasty. They serve alcohol. Challenge your group to the mechanical bull ride.

Fun. Fun. Fun. And Fun
Jun 2018 • Family
This was a highlight for our trip. It is like a trip back in time to days of cowboys. Friendly people. Happy people. And just a darn good time.

They had a bull riding machine. A chicken poop bingo game. A nice bar set up with country cocktails. A huge family bar bq. And

A rodeo that was real exciting and interactive.

We had a wonderful time. And will absolutely go back

Snowmass Rodeo provides all the western entertainment you could want! Bull riders, ropers, barrel racers, and calf chasers! It’s a fun, exciting event you don’t want to miss when in the Aspen/Snowmass area!

Very fun family event
Jun 2017
My entire family enjoyed the rodeo! The weather was great (except for the fire ban which didn't allow for the marshmallow roast and sing-a-long). I was disappointed that I couldn't contact the rodeo before the event to ask some specific questions not answered on the website. People there were super friendly and we bought some cowboy hats. If you want to experience some real cowboys, this is the place.

Taste of America

As a non-American, I found the whole experience fascinating, hilarious and exciting.

Before the rodeo at 7pm, there are food stalls and stuff around the arena, including Chicken Poop bingo where you place a bet on where the chicken will poop in its cage. So random.
I loved the traditional patriotic prayer and national anthem at the beginning or the rodeo! And the mountain views are the perfect backdrop to the action.

I was a little apprehensive about animal cruelty, but as each event is introduced, the MC explains it a little more. E.g. the horses buck and kick because a belt tickles their belly, not because they're distressed or scared. The MC also explains the rules behind each event so you know what's going on. He also talks a lot of adverts as well - he pretty much talks non-stop, but it was all entertaining.

It wasn't too crowded so even when we got there 5 mins late, there were still good seats available on the bleachers. I don't think the VIP tickets aren't worth getting as standard seats are good enough.

Food was standard, and prices weren't too bad considering it was a catered event.
Toilets are portaloo boxes. Although there's campfire singing and roasted marshmallows after the rodeo, it's only a very small group of people and everything else gets packed up, including the food, so we didn't stay until the very end.
