Most people think of winter when they think of Snowmass/Aspen. But we planned a family get-together for the July 4th holiday and brought the families for Oregon, Washington, and Colorado together. This house was perfect for all of us! We filled the 4 floors! All that we had to bring was our clothes and food. We enjoyed a couple of... More

We spent about 2 1/2 days here hiking and taking LOTS of pictures. We went to Maroon Bells one day and then hiked from our condo the next. We took the Nature Trail, Ditch, Connector and then Government Trail. We ended up on Vapor for a while but that's actually a biking trail and not great for hiking. Government trail... More

Locals are not helpful. We wanted to ride the gondola to the top of the mountain, but couldn't get anyone to tell us where to purchase tickets. Even GPS led us in circles! Shopping is extremely limited as there are very few shops and all are dedicated to skiing. It was a bust for us!

We went during the summer season and the area was gorgeous but most of the shops were closed and it looked like a ghost town

We have skied many other resorts in the US and Europe and have found Snowmass to have the best family rated slopes. We now include our two young grand children in the party and hope that they will take up the sport as have our children. Snowmass has a wide range of slope challenge and is perfect for learners as... I've been staying here while on temporary assignment in Aspen and even though my job is pretty stressful, getting back "home" to Snowmass Village is a great stress reliever!

There is so much to do here. Love the variety of ski trails in the winter. It's even better in the summer with lots of fantastic hiking trails, free concerts on the mountain, fishing, white water rafting, great restaurants, camp options for kids, outstanding restaurants. Definitely a perfect family desitination.

Perfect blend of urban life and wilderness. We are looking forward to hit the trails. A Starbucks, fine foods store, grocery store, fun kiosks, evening concerts and so many trails close by. Beautiful views.

Snowmass is really a great ski area. It is big (bigger then the other 3 Aspen ski areas combined) and spread out, with lots of terrain for all tastes. They have plenty of gentle trails to choose from, and a great variety of beautifully groomed Intermediate terrain as well as Expert trails. LOTS of woods and ungroomed for the experts.... More

Snowmass was the first mountain we visited during our Aspen trip. Beauty of the place is certainly great. Village is nice and very family oriented. Lots of restaurant options. The only downside for us, as adults with no children, is that it tends to be too crowded and loud.
